“Okay…” He kept standing there, waiting for me to say something, but I had nothing to say.
I looked at him again and raised a brow. “I just went to the bathroom.”
“All night long?”
“Jesus, Ronan. Why do you even care?”
“I just want to know where you went. You weren’t here when I woke up early this morning. The sun wasn’t even out. Did I bother you?”
I frowned and put my phone down, stopping the game I was playing because that’s all I could do up here with no service. “No, you didn’t.”
“Was I snoring?”
“No.”
“So you just went to sleep on the couch for fun?”
“I don’t know!” Why was he being so annoying? And why did I have no clue where I slept last night? I knew I left the room and watched Mom and Dad have sex, but after that, I couldn’t remember anything.
Almost as if there was a page missing in my book.
“You’re weird,” he murmured.
I sighed and put my phone aside, and as I was sitting up, Ronan dropped the towel to get dressed. “Ew, Ronan, go change in the bathroom!”
“Look away,” he simply said. There was a teasing undertone in his voice, and it took me a moment to decide whether or not he was being funny or not. He shot me a glance over his shoulder, raising his brow. “Out.”
I rolled my eyes and went out of the bedroom. I had already taken a shower and gotten dressed, and though I didn’t know what Mom and Dad had planned for us today, I was already wearing my hiking boots.
“Morning, sweetheart. Would you like some coffee?” Mom asked as I entered the kitchen. She smiled at me, and I smiled back. Because I hadn’t just watched her get fucked by Dad last night. And I sure as hell didn’t enjoy watching. No, that didn’t happen, and everything was normal.
“No, thank you. I’ll have some orange juice.”
I headed over to the fridge and opened it. we had brought a couple of things from home, but we’d have to go down to the nearest town to get more food soon. Unless Dad decided to just eat at the restaurant.
“What are we doing today?” I asked as I filled a glass with juice.
“Your father wants to go hunt for mushrooms.”
“Seriously?” Ronan came into the kitchen, now fully dressed, and looking annoyed. “That’s the most boring activity one can do on a camping trip.”
“You used to love it when you were younger,” Mom recalled.
“I was a kid back then. I’d rather do something else.”
“Well, you don’t have to look for mushrooms. You can just walk along with us,” Mom suggested.
“I’ll think about it. I might just stay here.”
“To go flirt with the waitress,” I teased.
“I might.”
“Ronan, leave the waitress alone.” Dad walked in, and he was also wearing his boots already. “You’re coming with us. This is a family vacation. That means if one of us goes mushrooming, all of us will.”
Ronan rolled his eyes as he let himself fall back on the couch. “Fine. But if you’re too slow, I’ll walk ahead and get back early.”
“To flirt with the waitress,” I added.
