I didn’t want to make false claims and accuse the others of having sex. Then again, that was no different from what Dad and I were doing.
“Dad?”
“Mm-hmm?”
“Have you ever noticed how odd Ronan and Mom act around each other?”
“What do you mean?”
I sighed, frowning. “I mean…doesn’t it seem like they’re being weird with each other?”
Dad kept looking at me, his brows raised.
I wasn’t making any sense. I needed to speak my mind.
I took a deep breath before saying, “I have a feeling that Mom and Ronan are being intimate. Just like we are.”
His expression tightened, and it looked like I had said something so outrages that my words upset him. Even if he was having a thing with me—his daughter.
He didn’t look away from me, and the longer he stayed quiet, the more the urge to tell him to forget about what I said grew. It was stupid.
I sighed. “Forget it. It’s stupid.”
“No, it’s not stupid.”
I frowned. “It’s not?”
“No.” He ran his fingers through my hair as a smirk tugged at his lips. “Actually, I was wondering how long it would take for you to catch on to it.”

I was confused.
He knew?
How long had that been going on between Mom and Ronan?
And why the hell was he always telling me not to let my mind go there when it came to us?
It didn’t make sense. Not one bit.
I furrowed my brows and sat up. My head felt light, and I couldn’t think straight. Reality seemed warped for a moment, then I snapped out of it.
“I don’t understand…”
“What don’t you understand?” he asked. He took my hand and held it in his, gently caressing my fingers with is thumb.
“I don’t understand how it’s real. I mean, Mom and Ronan are…are they really being intimate?”
Dad gave me a slow nod. “Have been for a while now.”
“And why didn’t you tell me? Why…why wouldn’t you let me get close to you in front of them if they know?”
“They don’t know.”
“What?” Nothing made sense anymore.
