“I know. I just like fucking with you.”
See.
“You’re such a douche.” Eli shakes his head, hiding his laugh.
“Whatever. I keep things fun around here. Sip?” Cameron pulls out a small flask, offering it to Eli.
“Fuck it.” Eli takes the flask and takes a swig, his face pinching. “Woo. That’s strong. Mase?”
“Nah, I’m good.” Adjusting my tie, I smooth down my shirt. I want to get on with this. I’m starting to get fidgety without Emery at my side.
“Rylann texted they are on their way,” Jace announces.
Finally.
The music changes, and the doors swing open. Two blonde heads emerge as Lily and Sadie—Scarlett’s twin girls—make their way down the white aisle, scattering rose petals.
Rhys appears next, wearing a huge grin, and struts his way to the altar in his matching black tuxedo, where he stands between Eli and Cameron. He looks up at me and pats his pocket, lettingme know the rings are safe. Cameron ruffles Rhys’s hair while Eli fist-bumps him. Our man.
Rylann makes her way down next, carrying our Miller princess, Riah, followed by Scarlett, Laci, and Lexi. All of them are wearing Emery’s favorite shade of deep red, but my eyes skip over them, waiting for the woman who owns my heart to emerge.
TheWedding Marchbegins and everyone rises, but my eyes stay rooted on the door. Without even seeing her, I know she’s going to look stunning.
Emery appears, and her eyes lock on mine as she comes into view. She doesn’t disappoint.
My bride looks classic and elegant in a skin-tight long-sleeved lace dress—that I now know is backless—with a slit that shows off her mile-long leg.
Absolutely breathtaking.
Emery walks towards me with a sparkle in her eye and a grin on her face. Her honey hair falls over her shoulders in waves, and a red flower is pinned by her ear. To top it all off, she’s got her signature burgundy lipstick coating her mouth.
She has the prettiest fucking red lips. Lips designed to bring me to my knees and ruin me. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Chris leads Emery down the aisle, and I wish they would hurry the fuck up. I’m dying for her to be in my arms.
My feet move as Cameron grabs me, keeping me in place. “Give her a second, Mase.”
Emery chuckles, mouthing,Breathe.
I do as she asks, and the happiness that’s been simmering below the surface all day bubbles up. Tears cloud my eyes as Emery makes her way to me. When she reaches the end, Chris gives her a kiss on the cheek and places her small hand in mine.
“She’s all yours, Mr. Smooth. Take care of her for me.”
Eyes still on my bride, I answer, “Nothing else I’d rather do.”
Chris slaps my arm and takes his place left of the altar as Jace begins the ceremony.
Emery wanted to do classic vows, and since I’d give her anything she wants, I agreed. A tear slips down her cheek as she recites her vows as practiced at last night’s rehearsal. She places a thick platinum band on my ring finger, promising to love, honor, and cherish me, in sickness and health, for richer or poorer for as long as we both shall live.
“Mason, you’re up.”
Rhys steps up and pulls the two rings out of his pocket, placing them in the palm of my hand.
“Thanks, buddy. You’re the best ring bearer a groom could ask for.”
“You’re welcome, Uncle Mills.” He grins, his little chest puffed up proudly, and steps back in line with his other uncles.
Lifting her hand, I slide the platinum pavé diamond encrusted band down her ring finger as Jace leads me through our vows.
