They were doing a good job tonight of keeping everyone full. Mason set the drinks on his tray, and he told Mason, "This one's on the house from me, so note that in the till, please."
"You got it, boss."
Jace carried the drinks outside and across the sand, careful to stay on the outside farthest away from the redhead.
He set the tray on the table. "Ladies, these drinks are on the house."
He leaned in and served each lady their drink, took their empty glass away, and set them on the tray.
"Yay. Thank you," they each said.
He turned to leave and noted the redhead coming toward him.
Margo stood. "I'm going to excuse myself to the ladies’ room."
He was in a pinch here. He turned toward Margo, wrapped his arms around her, and began dancing with her. She pulled away and her brows furrowed. The band changed the rhythm to a slow song, and he started swaying with her.
He liked the way she felt in his arms. He spun her around so she could see the redhead coming toward them, and she instantly changed her demeanor.
"Looks like someone is coming for you."
"I'm not interested in them. I am, however, very happy where I am right now."
She melted slightly in his arms. He felt her give in. Her arms slid up his chest and around his neck and they swayed as the song played.
"See this isn't so bad, is it?"
She chuckled. "No, no, this is actually pretty nice."
"I'm glad you think so. I think it's pretty nice, too."
His heartbeat increased as her scent wrapped around him. She smelled like citrus and cinnamon. The way she felt in his arms was like no other before her ever felt. He took a deep breath to keep his wits about him.
A tap on his shoulder had him turning to see the redhead standing there. "I'd like to cut in."
He shook his head. "Sorry, no cuts. I'm right where I want to be right now."
She landed a glare on Margo, who grinned a Cheshire cat grin. He didn't know what was going on between the two women, but he was going to take advantage of it. Not in a bad way, but it did get Margo to loosen up a little bit.
He swayed to the music and tightened his arms around her body. She was soft against him. Her breasts pushed seductively against his chest and he had to keep sexy thoughts from other parts of his body.
The redhead stomped off, and he enjoyed himself for a few minutes. Margo's arms stayed around his neck. Her fingers slipped into his hair and kneaded his scalp. No one had ever done that before. He liked it. As in, he wanted more of that.
As soon as the music began to die, he huffed out a deep breath. "Well, I'm sorry this is over. It was very enjoyable. Thank you for the dance, Margo."
"Yes, thank you. Thank you for the dance."
He leaned in, his lips next to her ear. "Maybe another one later on?"
She leaned back and looked into his eyes.
He grinned.
Her eyes were beautiful. Crisp blue surrounded by thick dark lashes. Her skin was tanned from their Florida sunshine and time spent outdoors. He hadn't seen her with makeup on before. She didn't need it to be beautiful, but the effect was magnetic. Her long, dark hair hung over her shoulders in waves.
She was a stunning woman. And he knew her to be smart and professional.
She finally responded. "Yeah, that would be nice."
