“Liar.” He was a fucking liar.

“I’ll never lie to you. Not a single time—I swear it on these wings.” His hands were on my face and he was grinning ear to ear. Such a beautiful sight—ugh. Not fair. “Nobody has ever slept in my bed, baby, but if you want, we can make a new bedroom just for us. Brand new bed. Brand new everything.”

You’ve got to be kidding me…

How in the world was I supposed to keep an attitude against that?

I sighed, closing my eyes. “No, that’s…that would be stupid.” He already had a bedroom, didn’t he?

“Then let me take you there. Just look at it. If you don’t like it, I’ll bring you back.”

“Fine,” I muttered, leaning into his hands reluctantly.

“Fine?” The asshole was still smiling.

“Yes,fine. Take me to your bedroom. But if I find out that anybody’s been in tha—” He kissed the rest of the words out of me.

Then he helped me grab a few things from the closet that I’d need right now, and he took me in his arms again and flew us right out the window.

Grey’s bedroom was on the third floor of his tower, his windows twice the size of mine, both open, so he easily flew inside without having to even stop on the windowsill first.

It was a bit bigger than the room I’d been sleeping in, and the bed was across from the three doors on the wall to my right. He had drawers and a beautiful mirror standing in the corner, the black wooden frame of it engraved with masks showing all kinds of emotions. He had black rugs on the floor, oval-shaped, and the curtains were a light grey, just like his eyes, pulled to the sides, floating a bit with the wind. He had a big desk to the right, and pieces of paper drawn with black ink were stuck to the wall. Books were stacked on either side of the desk, and on the floor near the legs.

But what took my breath away was the orange tie with a ribbon on it on the left bedside table. The same tie that had been around my wrist when I first came here, that I lost when Storm dropped me in the Woods.

Next to it was a framed drawing of eyes and a mouth and just the shape of a face, so minimalistic that it took me a second to realize it wasme. It was my face as I looked over my shoulder.

Grey was behind me, one hand around my neck, pullingmy head slightly to the side so he could reach my cheek. “What do you think?”Kiss, kiss.“Do you want me to make us a new bedroom?”Kiss, kiss, kiss.“Or do you want to stay here?”

I leaned back against his chest with a sigh, not ready to even start to analyze why it felt like I’d been here before. Why it felt like this place was already mine. Why it felt like I was going to sleep in that bed better than I ever had before. I would rest in it for real.

“We’ll stay here,” I said, and only when the words left my lips did I realize their meaning.

Slowly, I turned to face Grey, not strong enough to step away from his embrace yet.

“Good,” he said, eyes wide and glistening as he looked at my lips.

“But first I’m going to shower, Grey. And then we’re going to talk.” There were so many things I needed to figure out still—so manythings.

Grey kissed the tip of my nose. “Deal,” he told me. “If you let me shower with you.”

How could I say no?

We fucked in the shower.

Before going in, I was a hundred percent convinced that I would hold my ground. I wasn’t going to budge. I was going to keep him off me, shower, get dressed, thentalk.Just sit on that bed and talk.

But then he was naked and wet again and he looked like a fucking angel of death with those wings at his back, and my resolve went down the drain together with the hot water. So easy it was kind of pathetic.

I was looking at his cock, hard already, and Grey raised a brow in question.

“You’re hard,” I pointed out, just in case he didn’t notice.

“Is that an accusation?”

“Itis!I told you—we need to talk first.”

“Baby, but you’re naked, in my bedroom, in my shower. There is no power in heaven or earth to keep me soft.”
