“I’ve prepared a special tasting course for you tonight. If that’s alright.”
“I love it. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. Happy to help.”
She opens a chilled bottle of champagne and pours us each a glass.
“You can have a glass with your herbal medication.”
I nod. “I can thank you.”
Wrath takes a seat next to me and I reach for his hand. He entwines his fingers with mine. A few minutes later, a serverbustles in with two glasses of sweet tea with peach and lemon slices in each, and our first bites.
She set a plate in front of me that held a white spoon. “Fig wrapped prosciutto stuffed with gorgonzola and chopped prawn. Drizzled with a honey balsamic glaze.”
“Thank you.”
“My pleasure. I’ll give you a few minutes before I bring the next course.”
Wrath surprised me by picking up his spoon and offering it to me. I’ve always thought feeding someone would be super sensual. I take the proffered bite and moan as the flavors burst across my taste buds. After my mouthgasm, I pick up my spoon and offer it to my husband. He takes the bite and winks at me.
Heat floods my body. I know that wink. He has plans. Sexy plans. A few minutes later, our server comes back with larger plates that hold a trio of delectableness. As she sets the plates down, she describes the food.
“We have our trio of appetizers. Kung Pao calamari with bean sprouts and bell peppers. Mussels steamed in coconut water and dashi broth with red onion and diced tomatoes. Our third and final appetizer is green bean, fig, and feta salad with a mango vinaigrette.”
We dig in as soon as she leaves.
“This is excellent. Do you think she’ll give us the recipe?” my husband asks in between feeding each other bites.
“We can ask. I bet she will.”
“Have you looked at the cabin plans I sent?”
“I have. I marked three I like. My favorite is the one with natural stone and wood.”
“The one with three stories?”
“Yes. It has six bedrooms and four baths. I may add more baths. With kids and bikers there’s never enough. Plus, it has that big shop and a three-car garage.”
“We can keep extra cars in the community garage when the kids are old enough to drive.”
Our server comes back with the next course. She sets the plates down.
“For our main course we have jowl bacon wrapped filet of wagyu beef served with a red wine reduction peppercorn sauce. Macadamia nut encrusted mahi-mahi, red potatoes with lobster cream sauce and truffle mac and cheese. Enjoy.”
She quickly leaves us to our meal.
“It’s a good thing you're rolling me out of here. This food is delicious.”
“Are you tired of my cooking?”
I shake my head. “Not at all. You’re an amazing cook. It’s nice to have an evening out where you don’t have to cook or clean up. I’m enough to deal with.”
He’s out of his chair and I’m in his lap in a blink. He even readjusted my foot stool in record time.
“Nightingale, I love taking care of you. Think of it as practice for when you're carrying our child. I plan to pamper and spoil you the entire time.”
Wrath’s phone rings. He looks at the caller.
