What?My breath caught in my throat and my heart hammered madly.

“This, my beautiful angel, is where it belongs.”

Getting down on one knee, he lifted my other hand, my left, and slid the ring onto the fourth finger. Then kissed the back of my palm before gazing into my eyes.

I gasped with shock. Hot tears poured down my face. “I don’t deserve this. I’m a thief!” I sobbed.

“Yes, a thief of hearts. You stole mine the minute I met you.”

I sniffled. “How can I pay you back?”

“There’s only way I’m afraid. Give me your heart, Gloria. Marry me.”

A toi et moi forever? My heart was thudding so loud I could hear it. I didn’t know what to say.

“Just say yes, Glorious,” chimed in Kevin. “I’ve already agreed to be best man.”

Was this some kind of conspiracy? My eyes ping-ponged from Jaime to Kevin back to Jaime. It didn’t get better than this—trapped in an ambulance with the two men I loved the most in the world—differently but equally. I wrapped my good arm around Jaime’s neck and smacked my lips onto his. The siren roaring in my ears emanated from my heart. The truth was beautiful. I loved this man and needed him like I needed air to breathe.

Jaime’s twinkling eyes stayed on me. “Well, angel?”

“Yes.” A million times yes. On my next heated breath, I put my mouth back on his lips as his arousal pressed against me. Beneath my gown, wetness pooled between my legs as a raging fire consumed every cell of my being.

Jaime’s lips sucked and gnawed at mine as a hand moved to my breast. “I can’t wait to devour the future Mrs. Zander every day of my life.”

“Don’t even think about it, Mr. Zander. You’re not getting ambulance sex.” Confession: Making love to this incredible man in the back of a speeding ambulance was rather appealing.

“Then let me be the first person to sign your cast,” he breathed against my neck.

“What are you going to write?”

Mr. Creativity whispered into my ear. It was astonishingly simple.

Toi et moiforever.
