I wipe a hand under my eyes before bending and grabbing the next smaller box. I tear through it just as rapidly as the first, but when I get to the bottom of this one, a new wave oftears flood my eyes. In the bottom sits a baby cut with “Future Prospect” on the front, and on the back at the top says, “But for now,” and under the reckless omens patch says, ”Property of Grim”

I laugh until I nearly pee myself.

“Oh my gosh, this is the cutest damn thing I’ve ever seen,” I laugh, hugging the vest to my chest.

“That was all Halle. She’s going a bit crazy on the baby front,” Piper says, pulling Halle into a hug.

“Maybe I’m getting a bit mushy in my old age. But enough about me. Let's figure out what we are having! Will it be a prospect of a future Ol’ Lady? Maybe even both!” Halle yells out. The men look at each other and groan, but Gray is growling.

“If I have a baby girl, there will be no Ol’ Lady status to think of,” He grunts. I roll my eyes but follow the crowd out to the front of the compound.

“Alright, this is how this thing is going to go. Grim, I have added the correct color smoke to your tailpipe. All you need to do is rev up your bike, do a wheely, whatever you want. The dust thingy… don't give me that look, Loki, I don't know the logistics of how this shit works. I followed the directions,” Halle cuts off, turning on Loki.

“All I'm saying, pet, is I would rather not have to fight my brother because he comes after you for fucking up his bike. You don't mess with our bikes,” Loki shrugs.

“Yes, I know. Believe me! Miss Kitty is well fucking protected,” She spits out at him.

“Ahh, pet, you're starting to sound jealous there,” Loki smirks, grabbing Halle around the waist and pulling her into him. Things get heated as he whispers in her ear and then licks up the side of her neck. I clear my throat. Loudly.

“Uh, guys. These other fools might have come for the show we know you both like to give, but I’m kind of impatient about what I’m having,” I tell them before turning to Gray. “Hop on and Rev that engine, baby. I want to know what type of miracle we made.”

Gray doesn't need to be told twice. He smiles before bending down and kissing me hard. When he pulls away, I’m a bit dazed and a whole lot fucking wet. By the smirk and swagger, as he walks away, I have a good feeling he knows exactly what he did. He swings his leg over his bike and looks over at Halle, narrowing his eyes. She rolls hers at him and makes a ‘get on with it’ motion. Taking a deep breath, he starts the engine in the front of the driveway where everyone can see. He holds his hand out for me, and I walk up. When he grabs me around my waist, he leans in close to me so I can hear when he yells over the engine.

“You ready?” I look deep into his eyes, seeing the love, excitement, and pride shining there. Yeah, I’m more than ready to add to this story. I nod, and we both turn around as he revs the engine.

Pink smoke blows out into the breeze, quickly surrounding us. It’s a girl. We are having a baby girl.

Chapter Nineteen

Grim

Damn, I can't believe I’m having a baby girl. It's already been a day since the party, but I still can't wrap my head around it. I'm so damn excited to have a little princess of my own, but I am also man enough to admit I know absolute shit about little girls. I‘ve grown close to Rae and Paisley for sure, but I’m just the uncle who sneaks them all kinds of sugar and then sends them on their way. Actually being responsible for another human, making sure they grow into a decent person, yeah, that's the part I’m having trouble wrapping my head around.

“Church in ten,” Swift yells out from his office. I shake my head and start toward the conference room.

I’m lost in my head as my brothers show up one by one until it’s time to start church.

“Alright, let's get down to business. We had an issue go down with the Forsaken Sons in Minnesota when we showed up for the tradeoff. Apparently, there has been conflict going on in their territory for about a year now with a rival MC. They may need us for backup, but for now, it's just affecting business. One of their armories was attacked. Half of the shipment was stolen. Right now, we are more concerned with our brothers. I told them we would be ready for whatever they needed. Volt and Drift headed up that way after the party last night. They shouldarrive later this afternoon to update us on the situation. Nothing to do now but sit back and wait,” Swift says, looking around the room.

“Is that going to affect any of our other dealings?” Grease asks.

“I don't think so. I had Remi look into our inventory, and it looks like we are stocked for a bit, but we can't take too many hits,” Swift says.

“You letting the prospect handle a bit more, Prez?” Hitter says, raising a brow. We all know what he's really asking. Remi has been with us for about eight months. He started prospecting around the same time as Jason. They have both shown their loyalty in more ways than one, so the question is, when is the next patch party?

“Yeah, he’s shown real promise. Rodeo has taken him under his wing at the bar and kept close eyes,” Swift says, turning to Rodeo.

“Mans good with just about everything, but he has a knack for numbers. I know Comps been taking care of that side of the club, but I also know it's not his passion. I don't think it would be such a bad idea to look into the option of him becoming the club's treasurer,” Rodeo throws out there.

We each look at Comp, and though he tries to hide it, we can see the hope in his eyes that this may get taken off his plate. Comps always been the genius of the club, but sometimes I feel like he takes on too much. He has a family now he needs to focus on. Taking something off his plate would be amazing.

“Alright, we can talk more about that next month. See how he does with the bar numbers, Rodeo. We might get a fewnew brothers.” We all cheer at that. Swift starts to talk again but is cut off by a phone ringing. Our eyebrows rise. Everyone knows you don't bring your phone to church.

“Sorry, brothers. Halle was having a hard time with it today. I kept my phone on cause I was worried,” Loki says, pulling his phone out and reading the caller ID.

“It's the kids' school,” He says before picking it up.

“Loki.”
