“Like hell Octavius Tombs! He’ll have to shoot me and then claw Chomper from my cold, dead hands,” Chewy growls from somewhere in the dark.

Vic just grins at me.

“How long have you been standing there?” I sigh out.

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” she sasses.

“Yeah I would actually,” I reply. No answer. “Chewy?”

“She’s an odd little woman, and I can say that because Blanche is my sister.”

“Yup. And she’s perfect.”

It still feels weird for me to be sitting in Church. Usually Prospects aren’t allowed, but I’m guessing this has something to do with my Ol Lady bringing down a religious cult, so I’m sitting around the table with my brothers. Marx invited Pixie, but she told us she had better things to do. Namely, help the Ol Ladies set up for the triple baby shower happening in the common room after Church.

“So, you’ll never guess who I had in my office earlier,” Marx starts, leaning back in his chair, “Sergeant Moss Davies. Would you believe that Officer Martin has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder?” Marx’s eyes get comically wide as we all gasp and clutch our chests.

“Seriously? So Chewy and Pops’ plan worked?” Judge says, clearly shocked.

“It seems so. Word is that Officer Martin was questioned over his involvement in the trafficking ring and the failed abduction of Lovely. He was then cut loose, and they suspect it was during this time that he met up with Hammer for a little fun. Davies says that they have little fingerprint evidence because of themassage oil on Hammer’s skin, so it was lucky that they found biological evidence inside Hammer’s body.”

“Fucking gross,” Rider mumbles.

“Maybe so, but Chewy and Pops got rid of two thorns in our side,” Marx finishes.

“Are we calling in a favor from one of our contacts on the inside?” Judge asks quietly.

“No need. Officer Martin was an asshole and put a lot of guys away with little evidence. I don’t think he’s going to last long in prison,” Marx grins as we all cheer.

Pres bangs his fist on the table to get everyone to settle down, then looks at Sniper. “Roman has handled the Cordoza Cartel.”

“How?” Sniper asks quietly.

“He’s cut the head off the snake, and the next three in command.”

“Carlos Jr?”

“He’s seven years old. His mother wants nothing to do with the cartel. If the kid ever wants to avenge his father, it’ll be fucking years away, by which time Roman could well have died of old age,” Marx leans forward, looking directly at Sniper across the table. “It’s done.”

Sniper doesn’t look entirely convinced, but he nods and relaxes slightly in his chair.

“Anything else to report?” Marx looks around the table.

I clear my throat, “Um yeah, I have an update on the Landrys at the request of my Pixie. Lovely will stay in town with Pixie and the kids, so you may see her around the clubhouse at family things.” The brothers all nod their heads. They’ve been really gentle with her since she arrived, although I’m not sure she’s as soft as everyone thinks she is. Quiet and shy, yes, but she found the strength to walk away from a cult, so I think she has it in her to thrive now that she’s here in Rose Grove.

“What about the Keep?” Tank murmurs.

“Pretty much abandoned. Justice hung around long enough to make sure all the women and children found new homes. Some returned to family, others were farmed out to the Landry brothers’ contacts. Pixie and my sister may or may not have had a word with a few of the older women who helped Royal,” I tell them, trying to keep the smile off my face.

All my brothers smile back, knowing full well what a talk with my sister and my Ol Lady would entail.

“Good. Any chance the Landrys might want their gator back?” Marx asks and then jumps in his chair a little, “Keep your feet to yourself fucker,” he growls at his brother.

“Nope, that gator is Chewy’s baby, Pres,” Tank says, crossing his arms over his chest.
