“No fucking way—” she gasps.

“Oh, bro!” Ian laughs, his whole body shaking with it.

“Jer.” Noah’s jaw drops. “No way you did that.”

“I did.” I shrug. “She started it.”

“You are fucking petty.” Candace’s bottom lip trembles. “I can’t fucking believe you right now. But, baby, I’ll forgive you. It’s okay. We can move past this?—”

“Well, I don’t forgive you,” I sigh. “I don’t want to move past it, Candi.”

“You’re just not meant to be, Candace.” Ian mocks, and I elbow him in the side—hard. “Ow, bitch. What the fuck was that for?”

“Stop trying to douse the fire,” I groan. “I’m not trying to hurt you?—”

“Oh, so you break up with me in front of everyone?” She narrows her eyes on my face. “What’s wrong with you?”

The truth is, I don’t know. I guess fucking around with a guy affected me more than I thought, because now I can’t see myself with her anymore. Only him. Even after the way I felt this morning, I know there’s no way I can move past that without at least a conversation. And if I’m being honest, I kind of want a repeat. For research, of course. Just to find out if it’ll be just as good if I’m not drunk.

“I’m sorry,” I reply with a sad smile. “Maybe we can try again later on. But I need time to heal.”

Noah and Ian begin to laugh, and I chuckle. Candace and Maria both narrow their eyes on me. “You’re a fucking asshole, you know that?” Candi asks, but I know it’s rhetorical, so I don’t reply.

“We’re out of here,” Maria says angrily. “Let us know if any of you twats see that stupid board.”

“I’m done looking for it.” Candace lets us all know. “Fuck all of you.”

“You too,babe.” Noah grins. “Bye.”

“Y’all are fucking assholes, you know that?” Ian mocks them, laughing, and Maria huffs, then walks away. Candace stays a moment longer, getting up from her seat across from me slowly.

“You’re gonna pay for this,” she growls.

“I am?” I ask with fake wide eyes. “We’ll see.”

And with that, she walks away.

“Alright, this has been fun,” Ian says with a sigh, and when I look at this plate, it’s been wiped clean. How the fuck did he manage to eat all that during this fight? “But I wanna go back to bed.”

“Alright.” I nod, because same. “See ya.”

After Noah and I are alone, I know he’s going to have questions. So I brace myself for them. What the hell am I gonna say? Will I tell him I slept with a guy? And loved it? I mean, I don’t think he’ll judge me?—

“So, which one of the cheerleaders did you bang last night?” he asks with a grin, turning his body toward me.

“I didn’t,” I sigh. “It was?—”

“You fucked a peasant?” he mock gasps. “Jeremiah!”

“I fucked a guy.” I gulp, and his eyes widen. Then he begins to laugh at me. “Stop it—” I growl.

“Wait, you’reserious?”

“Dead fucking serious.” Well, a guy fuckedme, technically. But I’m not about to divulge that little detail.

“I didn’t know you liked guys?” he says, but it sounds more like a question. “Since when?”

“Since last night?” I sigh. “I’ve never even looked at a guy that way before. Maybe it was a fluke?—”
