Adamant.
The moment was broken when his stomach rumbled out loud, and Emma chuckled.
“I’m guessing the hare wasn’t enough for you.”
“Far from it,” he grumbled. “You talk about the kids going hungry if I wasn’t around. I’m pretty sure I’m on the verge of starvation. At least they can get milk from you.” He winked at her suggestively.
“You are not having my breast milk.” Emma raised an eyebrow at him.
“I’ll just have to feast on your pussy instead then.”
Scott pushed Emma back so she was lying flat on the bed. He lowered her pajama bottoms down her legs as his mouth salivated at the thought of tasting her.
He parted her legs. The scent of her arousal hit him straight away. He inhaled deeply, his hunger and worry dissipating at the sight and scent of the place he called home. He leaned over and allowed his tongue to dart out from between his lips and lick along the length of Emma’s pussy. She let out a soft groan of pleasure, which had Scott’s dick hardening.
He flicked his tongue over her clit several times, and she writhed with pleasure under him. He feasted on her like she was his final meal. His fingers delved deep inside her. Stretching her pussy—she’d be taking his cock next. He needed to be buried deep inside her, joined with her.
Emma clamped down on his fingers as her orgasm hit. He lapped up every moment as she gave him her pleasure.
Eventually, he withdrew his fingers from her body.
“I could watch you orgasm all day.”
“I could orgasm all day with your skills,” Emma purred.
Scott moved to position his cock at her entrance. He was about to push in when the first cry came from the cot. A second followed shortly after.
Scott growled, “Seriously.”
Emma chuckled. “Hold that thought, my love. Duty calls.”
Emma slid from the bed as Scott collapsed down on it. His children had thwarted his fun, but he didn’t mind. He was just happy to have them nearby. He was glad they weren’t going anywhere, but the future terrified him.
Eighteen
Jane placeda plate of meat from a prize winning pig down in the middle of the table. Tyler had spent hours endlessly turning it on a spit in the garden. It looked perfect, sitting beside fat sausages from Cumberland in England, piles of Bratwurst from Germany, juicy steaks from Texas, chickens from the south of France, and a couple of legs of lamb from New Zealand that had been placed in front of Scott.
Jane and Kas had decided to organize the meal for the pack. They both knew the end was coming and agreed that their family, born of trust rather than blood, must have one final banquet together. Jessica had teleported Jane all around the world so she could collect the meat. For Zain, there was salmon from the Scottish Lochs, and for the vegans and those who actually liked vegetables with their meat, there was an assortment of salads as well as strange looking fruits from every corner of the earth.
The table was piled high, but Jane knew it wouldn’t take long for the ravenous pack to demolish everything. She returned to the kitchen to collect another helping of meat, but her son Brayden reached out and took the plate from her.
“This all looks absolutely amazing, Mom. You’ve done so well.”
“I’ve always loved cooking, so it was a pleasure. You all need to make sure you have a good meal.”
“Because of what’s coming,” Brayden sighed.
“It’ll be all right.” She stroked her son’s hand.
Brayden looked over to where Kas, his alpha and his mother’s new lover, sat at the head of the table. Jane hadn’t forgotten Kas’ favorite food—she’d prepared a plateful of seal blubber mixed with her special blend of spices for him, just the way he liked it.
“Are you happy?” Brayden questioned, and she knew he was asking about her fledgling relationship.
“I am. Kas makes me smile. I love him.” Jane took her son’s free hand in hers and wrapped her fingers around his. “It doesn’t mean that I don’t think of your father or miss him. Heath was a massive part of my life. He’ll always be in my thoughts and my heart, and I’ll always wonder what could have happened, if he’d lived. But I can’t not live anymore. It’s no good for anyone. I hope you understand. Kas has always adored you. It’s why you’re his second-in-command. He knows you’ll be strong enough to lead this pack when the time comes.”
“I hope that time never comes.” Brayden smiled at her. “I couldn’t think of a better person for you to be with. Kas has always been an inspirational mentor. I’d be a very different man if I didn’t have him in my life. If I became alpha, it would mean Kas had gone and you’d be sad again. I never want that to happen. I want you to be happy and smiling like you have been the last few days,” Brayden replied. Jane swung her arms around him and embraced him so hard the plate of meat, he was carrying, nearly went flying.
“Thank you.” She kissed her son on the cheek.
