“I’m not in heat.”
His brows furrowed as he considered that new piece of information.
“You’re a cat…so your cycle is different from that of a human female?” She nodded. “I’m beginning to like this feline side to you more and more.” Hayden was back on top of her in no time at all. “Are you sure you want to do this. We can stop if you want?” he said as he positioned his hard length at her entrance.
“No, I need you inside me.Please,” Molly begged.
Hayden moved his hips back and then slowly pushed inside her, breaking the barrier of her virginity. She felt every inch of him stretching her to the point of pain, but at the same time, it was pleasurable. He continued to push forward until he settled himself fully inside her. It was uncomfortable at first, but the more Hayden stared down at her and she returned his gaze, the better it felt between her thighs.
Eventually, Hayden pulled back before slamming back into her again. The sensation had her gasping for air and nearly sent her over the edge once more. She was no longer in control—her body was a ball of bliss governed by what Hayden was doing to her.
He leaned down and joined their lips together in a passionate kiss as he continued to move in and out of her. Rumbles of purrs erupted from the back of her throat, and he caught them in his mouth and swallowed them down. It was fitting because they were only for him to hear—the notes of the symphony he was playing on her body.
Hayden’s pace quickened.
“I’m going to come real soon, Molly. You need to touch yourself.”
She pulled her claws out of the ground and shook away the dirt before placing her hand in between where their bodies joined together. She stroked at her clit, feeling Hayden’s length as it plunged in and out of her.
Her orgasm surprised her…it came out of nowhere, and this time, she couldn’t stop the mewl that escaped her throat. It echoed around the clearing they were in, and Hayden pushed his mouth against hers to capture every sound. He buried himself deep within her and allowed his own release to explode from his body and coat her insides with warmth.
They stayed together, not moving, for a long time. A fine sheen of sweat lined both their bodies from the exertion. Hayden kept pressing little kisses to her lips, and she savored every single one, swallowing them down as a reminder for later when she was alone in her bed.
She’d never forget this night. She had found her mate and would never let him go.
“Are you all right?” Hayden eventually withdrew from her and collapsed back down next to her.
“Very happy…exhausted but happy. I’ll sleep well tonight.”
“I’m not sure there’s much left of the night,” Hayden lamented.
Molly rolled onto her side. “When do you leave?”
“Later today. They want me to head up a task force to take back a city in the Northern Provinces.” Hayden stroked her hair.
Molly knew he had to leave—it was why they were both in this country, but it didn’t make it any easier. Her puma curled itself up into a ball and pouted. It didn’t want its mate to travel far from her either.
“Promise me you’ll be safe,” she pleaded with her lover.
“I give you my word I’ll do everything in my power to return to you one day. Hopefully soon and in once piece, but definitely one day. And when I do, we’ll start our life together. As man and wife. The human version of mates.”
Molly couldn’t help the little laugh that escaped her throat. “I’d like that very much.”
They both settled down into each other’s arms, and for the next few hours, they talked about the future and what they wanted from life. Being able to always dance was one of those things.
As Hayden boarded the helicopter to return to the front later that day, Molly watched him go. Tears tumbled down her face as the mechanical bird disappeared into the sky, and a growing doubt surfaced inside her—an uneasy feeling that it would be an eternity before she saw him again.
Chapter Six
The jungle seemed extra hot today as Hayden made his way through it, heavily armed with the weaponry needed to take down any enemies. He was leading a battalion of ten men on a mission to help a small community caught in the middle of heavy fighting a few days earlier. There were reports of injuries, and they needed to extract the people and take them for treatment. It wouldn’t be easy—they were surrounded by enemies.
He suddenly wished for Molly to be here with her enhanced senses. She’d be able to guide him along the safest route. He just had to hope she was safe and not overrun with chores at the hospital.
“Captain,” one of his men called to him when a little boy ran out from the small village.
The child was covered head to toe in dirt and what looked like blood. Hayden couldn’t instantly go to help him. They needed to ensure he wasn’t being used as a distraction to allow an ambush.
“Stop where you are and put your hands in the air,” Hayden ordered the young boy and pointed his gun at him.
