Lily sat up and did the same. “Nowhere,” she confirmed.

“I might not be able to protect you both.”

“Then we’ll figure out a way to look after ourselves and to fight. Together we’re stronger, Hunter. Apart we are weak,” Kingsley reassured him.

Hunter snorted a little laugh.

“Hey, I’m the great alpha. I’m supposed to be the wise one.”

“Sometimes, even mighty leaders need a bit of advice,” Kingsley retorted.

“And a cuddle,” Lily added with a lick of her lips.

“You concentrate on fighting for the pack, and with your permission, I’ll find the evidence we need on Ebony and Christian. That will keep us all safe,” Kingsley offered, but he already knew he was going to do it even if Hunter said no.

“I don’t know…” Hunter started to argue, but Kingsley interrupted.

“It’s happening.”

Hunter growled but didn’t say anything more on the subject.

“Is that all sorted now?” Lily questioned with a look of mischief on her face

“Why?” Hunter pretended to be ignorant.

“Because it’s time to play again.” The minx sat up and ran her hand down her body to her pussy. Kingsley heard Hunter take in a sharp breath behind him, and he did the same when she parted the lips of her pussy to display the precious flower beneath. “And I want to see you two kissing again.”

Chapter Eighteen

“You ready?” Lily heard Hunter ask from behind his bedroom door. It’d been a few days since the first time Hunter had taken Kingsley, and they’d spent a lot of this time together when Hunter wasn’t needed for pack business. Ebony was still insisting that the baby was Hunter’s, and Christian was still calling for a vote of no confidence in the alpha. The pack were divided in their opinions, and people were talking quietly together in corners about the future whenever she saw them.

Hunter and Kingsley had disappeared early from her bed this morning. She’d woken to a cold space beside her and a note telling her they’d be back soon. They must have returned. She pulled on a pair of leggings and a tunic top before trundling over to Hunter’s bedroom door and pushing it open.

Her mouth fell open at the sight in front of her. Hunter and Kingsley were standing in the middle of the room, surrounded by Brayden, Scott, Tyler, Emma, Teagan, Katia, Zain and Jessica. They all turned to face her when the door creaked.

“Shit!” Hunter exclaimed, looking guilty. “I thought we’d exhausted her enough, so she’d sleep for hours.”

“I did tell you it’d be better to get Jessica to work her magic. Lily’s got a quicker recovery rate than us.” Kingsley chuckled and patted the wolf on the back.

“Speak for yourself.” Hunter raised an eyebrow at him.

“What’s going on?” Lily asked, stepping into the room and rubbing her tired eyes.

Teagan waved enthusiastically at her.

“Go back to bed,” Hunter ordered with that dominant voice of his that usually sent shivers up her spine. This time, however, it didn’t work. She knew he was hiding something from her.

‘No!” she responded.

“Busted,” Scott cackled and gave Brayden a high-five. The latter, she noticed, was holding a bag with explosives in.

“What is Brayden going to blow up?”

Hunter put his head in his hands.

“You go ahead and get in your positions. We’ll meet you there,” Hunter instructed the others. Everyone held hands apart from Kingsley. Jessica then muttered something, and they all disappeared.

“What’re you not telling me?” Lily folded her arms across her chest, and although she was smaller than the two big men crowding around her, she was mightily pissed off.
