‘Pleeeeeasetell me! Katie said, almost squealing with delight. ‘You can’t say you’ve got a surprise and then hold out. That’s a real stinky-pants move!’

‘Hmm, I wouldn’t normally accept such sass, but I’ll let it slide,’ Cage said, tutting. ‘Okay. You want the surprise?’

‘Yes! Yes! Yes!’

‘Well here it is,’ Cage said, taking a piece of paper out from his kitchen drawer and placing it down on the table in front of Katie. ‘Surprise!’

Cage laughed at Katie’s shocked response.

It wasn’t so much shock though.

More like a muted disbelief.

‘My surprise is a boring piece of paper?’ Katie asked. ‘Is this a rental agreement or something?’

‘Ha! Rental agreement,’ Cage said, his voice echoing off the walls. ‘Do I look like a realtor?’

Katie shook her head.

‘Well, have a read then,’ Cage said. ‘Then tell me if you think it’s boring.’

Within seconds, the look on Katie’s face had totally changed.

This very much was not a boring rental agreement.

It was a BDSM contract.

‘Would this mean I was your Little?’ Katie asked, her voice a mixture of excited adrenalin and trepidation.

‘We’ll see,’ Cage said. ‘I think this is the only way to go if we want to explore our options. See what kind of future we could have together. Don’t you?’

Katie nodded before quickly burying her head in the contract again.

‘So many options, so many… kinks,’ Katie stammered, clearly excited by what she was reading.

Damn, this is great.

I don’t know who’s more excited. Me or Katie…

Cage strode over to the table and sat down next to Katie.

The pair of them began to go through the contract together.

They talked about hard and soft limits.

What they would and wouldn’t be prepared to do.

This was less stressful than Cage had imagined. Katie was pretty comfortable talking about sexual matters. Probably because of her cam work.

Cage found himself able to be open and relaxed too.

There was something infectious about Katie’s enthusiasm.

It was rare that people had this type of effect on Cage. Ever since his police partner died, he had found relaxation incredibly difficult. Loosening up around other people just hadn’t been on the agenda.

How could it have been?

If Cage wasn’t able to relax in his own company, then it really was never going to be an option with other people.
