That said, it had felt good to be in the Uber with Cage.

Safe.

Secure.

A totally different sensation to how it felt back at Katie’s apartment. That place was no less of a home and more of a bad memory. From camming to the photographs. It was bad vibes.

Despite the lack of words in the Uber, Katie had felt comfortable in Cage’s company. Sure, she barely knew Cage. But there was something there between them.

A connection.

Whether it was platonic, or something that could develop into a Daddy and Little relationship wasn’t entirely clear.

Everything was up in the air.

But now at Cage’s apartment, it was time to see exactly how things would play out.

The building looked very nice from the outside. It was a classic, old-school block. The original features had all been maintained both on the outside building work and on the inner lobby too.

For a moment, Katie even felt a little bit intimidated by the more upscale surroundings. It was absolutely an upgrade from her own shabby apartment building.

If anything, Cage’s place was more like the kind of building that Katie dreamed about living in.

Of course, she’d need to land more than one Broadway role before she could even think about a place of her own that was comparable.

Either that or work a billion hours camming.

Yuck.

The elevator up to Cage’s apartment was smooth and even had the old-timey brass buttons to choose the floor. Katie imagined herself going up and down on the elevator all day, the pinging noises on each floor sounding like something from the musicals she would obsess over as a child growing up.

Inside Cage’s apartment was no less impressive.

The only problem was that it didn’t seem like the kind of place a Little would live.

At all.

Everything about Cage’s home was so grown up compared to Katie’s place.

The furniture was sleek, minimalist.

Classy and expensive too.

The oak flooring was super-shiny and looked like it had only recently been polished.

The furniture was all dark or muted tones. Although Katie had to admit that the enormous couch did look amazingly comfortable.

Oh, and the huge flat screen TV mounted on the wall was impressive as well.

Beneath the TV was a large, and extremely realistic, electric fireplace. Katie’s mind immediately projected forward to cozy nights in watching a movie and snuggling up as the fire emanated golden waves of heat.

Maybe Cage’s place isn’t so bad after all…

‘Fancy a cup of warm milk?’ Cage asked, walking over to his kitchen area and opening the large refrigerator door. ‘I could make you a warm oat milk with chocolate sprinkles?’

Katie was a little bit taken aback.

The drink sounded delicious.
