“Just oral sex.” Paul winked. “I’m a sucker for gorgeous men.”

He was a sucker, all right. But damn, if Leo was going to have his first blowjob experience with a guy, why in the hell did it have to be with someone named Paul?

“Is it a deal or not?” Paul tapped his bare wrist. “I have other things to do, Leo. I don’t have time to wait around for an answer.”

The vampire had nothing but time considering he was immortal. “Yes.” Leo’s dick grew even harder. “We have a deal.”

Chapter Fourteen

After five days without any chaos or attempted murders, Kalen should have been feeling more at ease, especially with a new security system installed. However, knowing Delta still had trouble on his heels, and with a newborn in the house, letting his guard down wasn’t remotely possible.

But Kalen wasn’t the only one feeling on edge. The tension in the house was palpable. Everyone was aware of Delta’s problems, and had witnessed him nearly dying on the kitchen floor, an image that would haunt Kalen forever.

A century and a half ago he had failed to protect his wife, and just five nights ago, Kalen had almost let history repeat itself when he’d failed to protect his mate.

He was done failing.

A few hours after his granddaughter’s birth, Kalen had set things in motion. He’d handed off Alan to Sheriff Harper, with an explanation of why the human’s memory needed to be erased.

Then Kalen had driven to Delta’s house so his mate could pack whatever was needed for an extended stay, though he planned on convincing Delta to move in. The Frost home was where he belonged.

The entire time they’d been at Delta’s, Kalen had prayed the uncle would show up so he could beat Leo to within an inch of his life for pulling his nephew into his bullshit.

When they got home, Kalen made a few calls, forked over some serious cash, and had a top-notch security system installed the following day.

The package included an alarm system, motion sensors, floodlights, video doorbells, and over two dozen cameras. Three of which had been set up in Zyra’s nursery, and three in the nursery awaiting Jax’s, Elvine’s, and Arion’s child, if the stubborn pup ever decided to make their debut into this world.

But Kalen had turned down the home monitoring service. The humans didn’t need to accidentally discover the preternatural world through the lens of a camera. For Kalen, the sole purpose of the system was to give him and his family advanced warning if an intruder came near their home.

A warning he wished he’d had the night Delta had been shot.

When everything had been installed, Kalen, along with Jaytee and Jax, had spent a few hours with one of the security company’s representatives, Sydney something, learning their new system.

Like always, they took the safety of their family seriously, focusing their attention on everything the rep had explained to them.

Kalen was already aware his sons had become exceptional men, but to watch their determination as they asked Sydney questions and jotted down notes had made him even prouder.

The three of them had converted one of the guest bedrooms into a monitoring room. They’d mounted a half-dozen screens on one wall then placed an expedited order for a desk and office chair. When the furniture arrived, Kalen had sat in the most comfortable chair his backside had ever sunk into.

Delta, Raidh, and Arion had pitched in, grabbing items from around the house—small potted plants, knickknacks, and framed wall photos, to name a few—in an effort to make the office cozier.

Kalen had leaned against the doorjamb, arms crossed, captivated by the soft sway of his mate’s hips as the three men turned the room into a cozy home office space.

Then Delta had smiled sweetly at him, and Kalen had pulled his mate into the attached bathroom and fucked him senseless, chuckling when Delta walked away with a drunken smile.

After arming the security system for the night, Kalen jogged up the stairs to his bedroom. He found Delta stretched out on their bed, his head propped on his hand, staring down at his phone, wearing only his boxer briefs.

Yanking off his shirt and discarding his pants and underwear, Kalen climbed into bed, pressed his chest to his mate’s back, and nuzzled Delta’s neck. His mate chuckled, playfully batting him away.

Sliding his arm over Delta’s side, Kalen rested his chin on his mate’s shoulder and saw he was watching a movie on his phone. “How can you watch anything on that damn thing with such a small screen?”

He frowned when he realized he’d just made himself sound old.

“Well, I kinda have to watch movies on this small screen since a certain teddy bear doesn’t have a television in his bedroom,” Delta said in an almost singsong voice.

“Wolf shifter, muffin. Get it right.” He nipped his mate’s earlobe. “Let me see your phone.”

Delta handed it over without hesitation. After their conversation on the steps a week ago, Kalen began to notice his mate would simply do as he was asked. Not that he would ever take advantage of Delta. In fact, it was the opposite.
