"Rana sa... You were right, the past wasn't kind at all, but if there's something I would like to say after all this, It's that Ican't get myself to believe my father could be so cruel as to kill an innocent little girl to secure his daughter's future... I think there's something more to it", Isha said looking away from her husband as she couldn't see the pain he would go through hearing her say those words.
Abhyansh had no words to say, he was numb for a second because the fear he was having for the past 2 years came true... Whenever he thought about revealing the past to her, the thought of what if she didn't believe him caused him immense distress, and now facing it in real, the pain was nowhere near to his imagination. He decided never to utter those cruel things that took place in the past again, but he did, for his wife. Only he knew what reopening all those wounds did to him, but he didn't care about anything, only giving his wife her right took the front seat, his pain, his distress, and the trauma, everything else took a back seat, and as a result, his wife didn't believe it, could it get any worse ?
"Ranawat... I know you wouldn't want to believe anything we say, but trust me, my bhabhosa was not that kind of man, if he actually thought of getting Isha married to Rathore prince, he sure would have told me, he would never hide such an important thing about my sister from me...", Ranveer said, Abhyansh looked at Ranveer in the eye, his eyes reddened and Ranveer is taken back by the intensity.
"Did you know he liked me for Isha ?", Abhyansh asked sharply... his tone made Isha hiss in fear, it was that dangerous and filled with venom... "Answer me Rajput", Abhyansh increased his tone... Ranveer shook his head... "You didn't know it until Neil bl**dy Singhania told you huh ? Then how the hell could you expect that man to share his plans of getting his daughter betrothed to rathores ? He is a greedy ba**a*d, he could do anything...", Abhyansh said with venom... Isha movedaway from him to her brother's side hearing the poisonous words he spat for her father.
"Don't call my father that...", Isha said, her tone softened at her husband's pain but it held conviction, she wouldn't hear anything bad against her father until it was proven that he was the culprit.
"I can't believe this... I absolutely can't believe this... You are a woman yourself and still have the audacity to defend your a*s of a father after what he did to my sister ?", Abhyansh shouted in agony...
"I don't believe he did it Rana sa... The day I get proof of his sin, I will give him such a punishment that no daughter would have given to her dead father... until then, I will protect him and won't let anyone abuse him, not even you... I know my father... he was not that kind of man", Isha shouted back...
"Yeah, you know them for how long huh ? You were barely 10 when your parents died and you say you know them ?", Abhyansh spat and Isha looked at him with teary eyes... Yes, she lost her parents when she was very young, she didn't have many memories of them but she needn't be reminded of that harsh reality in such a cruel way...
"Ranawat...", Ranveer warned, and Abhyansh realized what he said...
Ranveer side-hugged his sister rubbing her forearm... Abhyansh moved forward but Isha hid herself in her brother's arms refusing to look at him...
"Just leave from my sight Rani sa... I'm very much angry right now and it's uncontrollable, I don't want to hurt you with my words...", he said looking at her teary face...
"Let's go bache hm ?", Ranveer said wiping her tears... Isha nodded but before going, she picked up the half-drunk coffeecup and thrashed it on the floor shocking Abhyansh and Ranveer.
"The next time you utter something like this, the cup's destination will change, yes I am young, just 10 years old, but I don't need years to know how my father was, for a daughter, her father is her first hero and I trust him so much because of how he treated me, how he respected my mother and grandmother. How he taught my bhai to always respect women", she said angrily, he fisted his palms to control his fury because he knew he would definitely spit venom against her father if he opened his mouth.
From the time she got pregnant, it's like the calmness in her disappeared into thin air and her anger peaked higher than Mount Everest. And handling her anger is challenging for Abhyansh considering his own almost non-existent calmness and patience level.
Isha gave one last look to her husband before walking away... Abhyansh raked his hair in frustration, he hated seeing his wife in such pain or anger, but when she defended her a*s of a father, he lost it, he had a logical explanation, she was barely 10 when her father did all this, how could she be so sure that he wasn't that kind of person? For a second, he could even accept his brother-in-law's statement, because he was old enough to know that man, but Isha ? How could she be so sure ? Why didn't she believe him when he told her that he witnessed Amar Rajput doing all that ? Why is the daughter in her so adamant to not accept that her father was the culprit ? All these thoughts revolved in his head.
While Isha thought 'You will understand me when you become a father to your daughter Rana sa', Isha thought to herself.
---------------------------------------------
For the next few days, Isha stayed away from her husband emotionally, she stayed in the Ranawat palace, in the same chamber both of them slept on the same bed in each other's arms but she didn't speak to him about that issue ever and he didn't raise it either... Abhyansh knew his wife and brother-in-law were determined to find any proof to prove their father's innocence and it irked him, but he let them do it. Maybe their numerous unsuccessful attempts might make them realize how wrong they were and help them accept the reality.
"Did you take your medicines ?", Abhyansh asked, entering the chamber, she was reading a novel, didn't even look at him, just gave him a nod and continued reading. He sighed, and went to change, he saw his tracks and t-shirt kept aside and folded neatly. A small smile formed on his face, he knew his wife had taken it out for him to wear now. No matter how much they fought, the deep husband-wife bond between them wouldn't go anywhere.
Abhyansh came back with her ointment and applied it, before settling beside her, pulling her into his arms, she adjusted her head on his chest and he covered both of them with the duvet. He kissed her hair and she sighed, keeping the book aside...
"Ignoring you is so difficult, you know", she said looking at him...
"I now know", he said pushing her hair strands back... "Tomorrow, we need to go for your scan, remember ?", he asked and she nodded...
"But we won't get to know the type of triplets... I want it to be a surprise", she said and he sighed... During her first scan only, the doctor wanted to reveal if their triplets were identical or fraternal but Isha didn't want to know, the following day was her Nuchal Translucency Scan which is mostly done to assess the risk of chromosomal abnormalities and measure the fluid.
"Isha... bacha... You want the gender to be a surprise, even I wanted it, but not even knowing the type of triplets seems absurd to me... Knowing it would help us analyze any risks if any, and stay prepared", Abhyansh softly said
"Analyze ? Are you a doctor ? You sent these reports to tens of obstetricians till now... All of them said everything is fine with my pregnancy, still, you worry a lot huh ? You and your paranoia make me want to bang your hand Abhyansh", she said and he narrowed his eyes... how did she know that he sent it to tens of specialists across the globe ? Of course his a** of a brother-in-law... he mentally prepared the torture for him for spilling all these things to her... "Don't even think about saying anything to bhai", Isha warned
"Fine... We won't know about anything... Will wait for the surprise", he groaned... God! his patience was wearing thin, he wasn't able to bear her anger, but controlled hard not to snap at her... because even if he increased his tone a bit, her eyes were welling up and it wouldn't take a minute for tears to make their way and sometimes, he is scared even to open his mouth.
"Tomorrow I'm going to meet Neil Singhania with bhai...", she informed him, he nodded his head, fisting his palms to control his fury. "I know you hate it but I need to do this", she said softly and he nodded again... "I'm causing you so much distress right ? I'm sorry Rana sa", she whispered tightening her hold on his t-shirt.
"It's fine... Just stay happy, don't take too much stress... I just want you and the kids to be safe and sound", he said softly ruffling her hair...
"Can we go for a trip if everything goes fine with the scan tomorrow ?", she asked and he sighed deeply...
"I hate to refuse you Rani sa, you know it too well, I'm just afraid you would stress...", he said and she shook her head...
