“Because I heard you loud and clear. It was up to me to make things right with them.”
“And?”
I lean against the counter across from her, arms crossed, biting my lower lip. Cliché as it is, even after all we’ve been through, the sight of Jules takes my breath away. She has heart. We’re from different backgrounds, yet there’s so much of Jules’ ways and thinking I’d like to adopt. She treats everyone the way they treat her. And when it comes to her parents, she’ll do anything to for their happiness. I respect that.
Jules stretches her leg out to get my attention. “And?”
“And we’re on good terms. It will take some time for them to trust me, but for now, we’re okay. I told them about leaving the life of crime behind. It sealed the deal.”
She jumps off the counter, squealing, and jumping up and down. “I’m so happy.”
I grab her abruptly, cradle her head in my hands, and plant a kiss on her lips. “I’ll do anything for you to be happy. Remember it.”
On her tippy toes, her arms circle my neck, and she says, “And I’ll do anything for you too.”
My eyebrow rises. “Anything?”
She giggles and then her face drops into a frown. “Um, yes?”
“How about group sex?”

When Miles says he wants to participate in group sex, I’m not gonna lie, a jolt of excitement and nerves zaps through me. I’ve not only been curious about it, but I also feel as if I’m missing out on the experience, especially since he’s done it before. The idea of being naked in front of others is thrilling and unsettling. Does everyone check each other out? Will they stare at me? My main worry is if anyone else participates. For me, the thrill is to have sex in front of others, not so much with others.
He swings me from side to side while walking us over to the couch. Once settled on his lap, his hand caresses my thigh in a loving way. I’ve yet to answer him. When he mentioned it, I tilted my head back, closing my eyes to imagine it.
Miles studies me. “Jules? Is it something you’re interested in?”
My body leans into his, picking at a lone thread on the sleeve of my sweatshirt. I twist it tight around my finger and watch my finger turn red. This is my favorite sweater. I probably wouldn’t wear it to a sex party. Did I take my meds today? Why would I think about my meds while we’re discussing a sex party? An orgy. Do you wear clothes to one or arrive butt-naked?
He gently captures my jaw to get my attention. “Hey! Where’s your mind at?’
I give him a goofy smile. “All over. Did I take my meds?”
“Yes.” His eyebrows scrunch together. “Are you okay, Jules?”
“Yeah. I guess I’m anxious.”
“About what?”
“Orgies.”
He lets out a laugh, cups the side of my head, and presses me into his body. “Schatzi, I don’t want you worrying. If you don’t want to do it, we don’t have to do it.”
“But—”
“Jules. What did I tell you? It’s important we both want it.”
I’m sitting against his chest sideways, resting my hand on his forearm. Everything about Miles is strength. I love it. He’s also safety. Aside from the kidnapping, he’s kept me safe, even from the crazy man and woman who shot at me. Miles took the bullet for one and risked it with the other. I want to give him this sexual experience…and it’s piqued my interest, too. Not to mention, it bothers the hell out of me he’s experienced it with other women.
“Well, you did it with other women, so why shouldn’t I do it?”
Miles rests his cheek on top of my head. “What I did in the past is nothing compared to my time with you. Got it?”
On his forearm, I trace an invisible M and J with the tip of my finger. “Okay. But I’m curious.”
Cocooned in his arms, he says, “Ask me anything, Jules. I’ll tell you about them.”
