“No, you’ve never been in heat, right? This isn’t something you’re used to,” he said.

“Were you guys used to this from your past relationship?” I asked, curious.

“Not at all,” he said. “We never got the chance to get her through a heat. That’s why we don’t have any babies.”

“Oh god,” I said, realizing I could get pregnant right now while his knot pumped his semen inside me. “What if I get pregnant? The heat suppressants I took last week might not work.”

“And so? You have us now,” he purred, calming me down. “I can’t wait to see your belly nice and round with the baby I put inside you. Should we discuss baby names?”

“No,” I groaned, and he chuckled.

Thirty-One

JADE

“Ready?” Nick asked.

I was wrapped in a comfortable bathrobe after he had helped me take a bath before driving me to the new home in his car. I was sitting in the passenger side, and he went around the car, opening the door for me. I tried to get up but doubled over when my stomach muscles clenched again.

“I hate this,” I groaned, gripping the door tight.

“I’ll carry you inside,” said Nick, the gentleman that he was.

“I’ve got her,” I heard Caleb saying as he came up behind Nick.

“They’re all here,” I said happily.

“Yeah,” said Nick, sounding unhappy as Caleb leaned into the car, wrapping his hands around me.

Caleb’s scent washed over me as he lifted me in his arms, cradling me tight. My stomach growled, and as I watched his jaw tense.

“I have food prepared,” he grunted, walking in quick strides across the driveway and towards the home.

“But I’m in too much pain,” I said. “I can’t eat right now. I need a knot.”

He shook his head adamantly.

“Fine, I will have Bruce knot inside you next while I feed you.”

That thought made me blush so hard I could swear he could feel the heat radiate off my face.

“Okay,” I said in a little voice.

He strode into the house, and I heard hammering on the wall upstairs. I looked around the living room and noticed all my designs stayed the same.

“We didn’t change much,” he said as if reading my mind. “We prepared the master bedroom for you, though. It’s a surprise.”

I didn’t decorate any of the rooms upstairs and wondered what they did to them.

“Ooh,” I said excitedly.

We approached the very last room down the hall, and he twisted the doorknob open. My mouth flew open when the first thing I saw were my paintings hung all over the walls. I couldn’t speak. My hand flew to my mouth in stunned silence.

There was a huge bed in the middle covered in white sheets, sitting underneath my best painting of an omega staring out at the ocean with the mark of a wolf claw on her shoulder. I couldn’t believe they’d done all this for me. The silver curtains matched the intricate silver design on the giant headboard. And the best part were the silver cushions in the corner surrounded by canvas paper and painting supplies.

My nest. This was my home now.

My heart couldn’t take it anymore as tears rolled from my eyes and goosebumps formed on my skin.
