“Every omega is mine,” he said with that permanent smile. “But this time, I’ll keep you instead of disposing of you afterward.”
“Why are you doing this?”
“Zaneesha knows she shouldn’t have played with dark magic. She wanted to restore peace through me,” he said, rubbing my shoulder. The heat of skin through my sweater continually sent shivers down my spine. “She knew it would come with a cost. Over the years, my appetite was sated with omega sacrifices in the cave, but when that omega princess cast me out of that poor boy’s body, I had nowhere to go.”
“Why are you here then?”
“I tormented Zaneesha,” he said, his smile getting even wider as he gazed at the door as if staring at our host directly. I heard her whimper on the other side of the door, and I knew she was listening to our conversation. “I tormented her until she gave in and conjured me up in this form using a dead alpha’s body. And I would be promised an omega.”
“Why don’t you just go out and find your own mate?” I said. I was angry and confused. I flinched when his hand roamed to my neck, lightly squeezing it.
“I’m trapped here with the pentagram until Zaneesha can set me free,” he said. “I’m going to bring you to heat, mate, and then mark you.”
“Hell no,” I said, and he squeezed my neck tighter until I gasped. He released his grip and wrapped his fingers around my waist.
“I could smell your scent of arousal filling this room,” he breathed, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. “Omegas are meant to serve their alphas, are they not? To sexually satisfy, to breed, and to fuck.”
“No, I don’t believe that,” I said, my chest rapidly going up and down from my panic. Then, when he released my waist, I ran around him towards the window. I flung the curtain open, letting the sunlight in, and screamed as loud as possible.
No one was coming to my aid. I screamed again and noticed that the Shadow Wolf hadn’t even flinched.
“Keep screaming all you want,” he said, approaching me again. “I blocked all sound leaving this house. Only the old woman can hear you, but she’s not going to do anything about it if she knows what’s good for her.”
His robe swished audibly around him as he rushed towards me and grasped me by the elbow. In one move, he threw me on the dirty mattress, standing above me as I lay on my back.
“Please,” I gasped out. “Just let me go. I promise I’ll find you a replacement omega.”
“So cute,” he chuckled, tracing my thigh with his black boot. “I kind of like you, little omega. You will be mine. To be rutted, bred and mated.”
“No, please,” I said.
“But first, I need to bring you to your heat,” he said. “Since you’re not in heat, I will induce your heat using ancient methods.”
I sat up, quickly rolling myself into a ball away from this demon. He was crazy and delusional, but he was intent on my destruction. I was sweating profusely, and my chest was going to explode from my rapid breathing.
“Zaneesha, if you can hear me- open the door!” I screamed in one last-ditch effort.
“She’s gone now,” he said. “Now, remove your clothes.”
“No,” I said.
“I command you, omega. Remove everything,” he ordered. His voice awoke an innate need inside me to obey. To listen instantly or crumple in pain of disappointing my alpha. Myhands lifted of their own accord, removing my sweater first as I sat on the filthy mattress. It was like I lost my ability to think as I undressed before him until I sat naked under his watchful eye. “Lay down, omega.”
I couldn’t do otherwise even if I tried. His alpha compulsion was too powerful for me to fight. Tears streamed down my face as I lay on my back.
Argon knelt in front of me, running his hand down my closed thighs. He traced his finger between the small opening leading to my pulsing core.
“I don’t want you,” I whispered, terrified whenever his eyes met mine.
“I’m your new master now,” he said. “Get used to this. Every night, you will please me, especially during your heat. I will take what’s mine and what was promised to me.”
I looked around frantically for anything. Any weapon. Anything to help me.
But there was nothing at all.
“You’re not my master!” I screamed in frustration.
And that was a big mistake because that set him off.
