It took a minute before Walker realized she was talking to him. He waved at her and nodded as his team and the crowd cheered. An announcer on the field rushed over with a mic for Walker.
“You can really make it up to me by marrying me?”
Kay stared at him over the crowd, not sure if he could see her. “Are you serious?”
He grinned. “Oh, yes!”
“Then you’d better win the game.”
“Is that a yes?”
“Yes.”
He pitched a no-hit inning, striking out the next three batters to win the game.
A security guard escorted Kay to the field. She ran, leaping into his arms. “I’d have married you whether you won or not.”
“I know.” He kissed her as the cameras flashed.
Grace joined them on the field, grinning. “Our plan worked.”
