Ben kissed her forehead and put his arms around her. He had never done this before; Ben was one of those people who didn’t really like physical affection, which was a running joke with his family. So for him to do this was surprising, and Callie was not complaining.
“You’re concerned that this could affect all of us, aren’t you? How should we move forward and the like?”
“Pretty much,” Callie admitted. She looked at Matt, who was still seated. “I just spoke to Daisy. She told me what you two had planned, and how she pretended to be more sick than she was.”
“That’s not a surprise,” Matt replied. “Daisy said she would be itching to know the details afterwards.”
That was expected. Daisy did love something juicy to get her teeth into. And knowing her friend had been fucked by two guyswhile alone would certainly be something she would love to hear about. Daisy looked back at Ben.
“She said you two both had feelings for me. How long has this been going on for?”
Ben glanced at Matt, who shrugged.
“You go first. You’re the one who approached me about this.”
“Okay.” Ben slowly released Callie and leaned on the dining table. For the first time since Callie had known him, he looked unsure of himself. “I’ve had a thing for you for a while, Callie. Pretty much since we met.”
Callie’s mouth dropped open.
“That was five years ago. You’ve fancied me for that long?”
“Yes. I felt uncomfortable about it, both because you were with someone and also because I’m a lot older than you.”
“Thirteen years isn’t that bad,” Callie reminded him. “I never saw that as an issue. You should have figured that out.”
Ben winced. He rubbed the back of his neck.
“Well, you were still with Drew. When you broke up with him, I was thinking that I would wait a while and then ask you out for a drink and go from there.” He gestured at Matt. “But then I was talking to Matt at Christmas, and he ended up telling me that he liked you as well.”
“The look on Ben’ face was amusing and scary at the same time,” Matt carried on for him, giving Ben a bemused look. “I thought he was going to launch himself across the table at me. Once we calmed down and talked it through, we knew that we couldn’t back down for the other, or even have both of us step back altogether.”
Callie looked from Matt to Ben and back again.
“You would have fought over me? I’m not anything special.”
“That’s what you’re wrong, Callie.” Matt sat forward. “You’re gorgeous. You might not think that, but you are. You’re generous, kind and very sweet. You have a wicked sense ofhumour, and talking to you is incredibly easy. Even under your insecurities, there is a very sexy woman there, and I just love seeing you smile at me. I came into the club, and I really wished that you weren’t in a relationship. That’s not something I normally decide on a whim, but things went out the window when it came to you.”
Callie didn’t know what to say to that. She had never heard any of this from either of them. How was it possible that she had two guys crushing on her? She swallowed.
“You both had feelings for me all this time?”
“Yes,” Ben answered.
“And you…what? You wanted to share me or something?”
“Not originally. Neither of us were willing to back down.” Ben glanced at Matt, who was standing up. “Then the more we talked, the idea of having a threesome came up. We didn’t want to fight over you, but the thought of sharing you between us sounded more and more erotic.”
Callie folded her arms.
“I seem to recall you saying you would never do any threesomes with another guy. You said it was weird.”
Ben’ mouth twitched.
“And I remember you telling me there were more than just one position with a threesome, so we came up with a few. Plus, I was willing to do it with you.”
“We aren’t expecting an answer from you regarding anything, Callie.” Matt approached her, his hand touching the back of her neck. His hand was warm, and Callie leaned into it. “If this ends up being a one-off thing, we can leave it at that. We’re all grownups, after all.”
“And if it doesn’t?”
