Brown eyes turned into round saucers as her jaw dropped along with her chin. “You can’t be serious. There’s no way, George!”
“Shh!” Came from the alcove next to us.
She whispered, “No way!”
“Sit.”
Still shocked, she eased into her seat next to the one I had taken, but I couldn’t stand it. Grabbing her waist before her butt hit the chair, I moved her to my lap again. “Nah, this is your seat now.” Wrapping my arms around her, I tilted her head to mine to kiss her. Then, I started to teach.
CHAPTERELEVEN
KINSLEY
I was happy.George got me an A on my astronomy midterm. The marathon was over. All I had left to focus on was my medical college admission test before the Halloween party the following evening.
Despite my mind continually fantasizing about George’s cock throughout my days and nights, I pushed him aside to focus on the exam. The butterflies in my stomach turned to birds, then screeching pterodactyls, as the week progressed. By Friday morning, I felt like I had two heart attacks before getting dressed to walk over to the testing site.
Slinging my bag over my shoulder, I noticed the zipper pocket was open. Something was stuck in it, so I couldn’t close it. When I went to stuff the items back in, I pulled out George’s patch from high school. His lucky letter. I smiled, my nerves easing.
Me
Thank you.
George
For what?
For the luck.
You don’t need it. You’re ready.
And don’t wake me up again this fucking early.
So George was grouchy in the mornings. Good to know.
Bouncing to the building, my shoulders relaxed. I took a deep breath and entered. He was right. I was ready.
That night, Elle arranged that we all head to the club to celebrate. She said it was because my exam was over, but, really, she just wanted any excuse to party. I’d have weeks to wait before hearing my test results and needed to blow off steam, so I was grateful for the outing. No boys were invited, but I thought that might have to do with her irritation over acertainboy.
“Come on, and I’ll buy you a drink, Kins.” She led us all to the bar. Marissa lingered in the back and I grabbed her hand, tugging her with me.
“You’ve been MIA too much. Stop looking around for him.” Her dark brown hair was bouncing as her head swiveled around, looking for her boyfriend, Xavier.
“But Ifeellike he’s here.”
Sharice snorted. “Probably because he’s hiding in the shadows somewhere. Dude’s creepy.”
Marissa’s jaw dropped. Then she closed it and smiled. “Yeah, he is.”
Elle handed us each a martini and led us over to a U-shaped booth filled with Deltas. She made them scoot over so we could sit. The fraternity brothers didn’t mind seeing four hot women wanting to sidle up to them.
“Hello, ladies,” said one guy with thick glasses and a lip ring.
“We aren’t here to talk to you. We just wanted your seats,” I said.
“Well, maybe I wanted to talk toher,” the guy said, pointing at Elle. She was a bombshell. I didn’t blame him. Elle turned to flirt with the other guys, and Marissa nudged me.
“So, you and George, huh? How’s that going?”
