“Where are you? I’m coming for you,” he answered.

“Go fuck yourself, George. You trying tokillme now?”

“What are you talking about? Where are you?” he asked more firmly.

I wailed, “You-you fucker! You slashed my tires! You willpay,George!” I was sobbing.

“Sins, stop. Where are you? I am coming to get you.”

A large black truck pulled up on the other side of the street on the opposite curb. George climbed down, still holding his phone to his head, then ended the call and slid it into his back pocket when he spotted me.

Trying to wipe tears from my eyes, I wouldn’t look at him. I didn’t want him to know how much his prank affected me.

It didn’t matter. Large arms swept me into his warm body like I weighed nothing. I wrapped my legs around his waist and buried my head into his neck, sniffling.

“I did not fucking do this, Sins. Iwouldn’tdo this.” I was clinging to him like a koala. He bent down to inspect my tires. Tugging back on my ponytail, he made me face him. “Let’s get something straight, princess. You annoy the fuck out of me, but I don’t want to hurt you. Except when I fuck you.”

Despite my tears and snotty nose, he kissed me, sucking my lips into his. I moaned and then broke the kiss to nuzzle his neck more. He smelled like safety.

“I hate to put you down, I like you tucked into me like this, but I need to turn off your car.” He set my legs on the ground and turned off the engine. Then he picked me back up and walked us to his truck.

George waited with me until help arrived, drumming his fingers on the center console and darting his eyes around, scanning the scene. I sat on his lap, straddling him, feeling his heartbeat against my chest. My fingers slowly stroked his long hair. Once the tow truck arrived, the driver pulled my car to the nearest shop as we followed. Since it was so late, the mechanic couldn’t fit new tires on it until the weekend was over.

“You need food,” George said after placing me back in his truck. I hadn’t even thought of food the entire day. Now that he said it, I was faint.

“Sharice has my food at home. Will you take me?”

“Of course, Sins. But would you rather go to a restaurant?”

“With you?”

“Yeah. With me,” he said with annoyance.

“I’d like that.” I would. I didn’t really want to leave him.

“Okay. What do—” Before he finished his sentence, he glanced at his phone after receiving a text. “Fuck!”

“What?”

George sighed deeply and let his head drop back. “I have to drop you off. Something’s come up. I do want to take you out, though.”

When we arrived at my building, I made a move to get out of the truck, but he grabbed my waist and pulled me onto his lap again. “Where you going, princess?” He brushed pieces of my dark hair out of my eyes that had escaped my elastic band. He tucked each side behind an ear. His lips held mine, and he moaned, not wanting to let go. “I want to stay and fuck you all night.”

“Okay,” I said breathlessly into his mouth.

“But I can’t. I’ll text you later.” I slid off him and got out. “Eat,” George yelled before I shut his door.

I went promptly upstairs and devoured two meals.

CHAPTERTEN

GEORGE

There wasn’ttime to devise a solution to the Gianna problem before she texted me. Right when I was going to get some princess pussy, too. The wicked witch was ruining my life. Like always.

What worried me more than the Gianna situation was Kinsley’s car. Someone was indeed trying to kill her. She had an entire league of undesired enemies and had no clue. She suspected me immediately. I wondered if that meant she knew who I was, who my father was. If she knew the police covered up her accident. I still couldn’t be sure.

If Kinsley knew the police covered it up, she could go to internal affairs. She was smart; she’d figure out immediately that the mayor was involved. With how stubborn she was, I knew she wouldn’t let it go until everyone burned. And that included my brothers and me. My mother would suffer without me around and it was my fault she was in the state she was in.
