Page 65 of Liam

I raced Ethan into the water.

It was raining lightly as we rode wave after wave, chatting about work and our volunteering at the centre as we waited for the next big one. Any tension I'd been holding in my body, drained away. I loved being outside in the elements. We were soaked and cold when we emerged.

Before the sun descended completely, I stripped my wetsuit off my upper body, folding it down enough to show the v-cut above my groin, and took a picture of myself.

"Here, give me your phone," Ethan said. "And turn away from me."

I followed his instructions. "Now what?"

"Pull the wetsuit down a little further. I want to see a hint of the crack of ass. You've got those two little dimples above your cheeks that drive people wild. They'll dream of licking them."

I laughed and peeled down my wetsuit. "You're going to corrupt me."

"Doing my best. Take your hair out of the bun."

I released my hair and shook and combed it out to cascade between my shoulders. I looked back at Ethan. "Anything else Mr. Photographer?"

"Right hand on your hip. The other at your side. Look off into the distance to the left."

Ethan moved around taking pictures as I held the pose. Satisfied, he wandered up to stand beside me, scanning through what he'd taken. I leaned against him so I could see.

He found one he liked and put a black-and-white filter on it.

It looked very professional.

I took my phone from him. "I'm going to post that one. Thanks."

"Easy subject matter."

I snorted. "Who are you calling easy?"

"Notyouanymore." Ethan nudged me. "A man has finally caught the elusive Liam."

I grinned. "It feels good." I'd only seen Jamal at the centre recently. Our schedules aside from that kept conflicting. Thankfully, we'd had some epic make-out sessions in his office.

Ethan and I stripped off our wetsuits. Naked and shivering beside Ethan's car, we towelled ourselves dry. Then cozy in our sweatpants and sweaters, we returned to the B&B.

"I'm going to go for a run," I said once we were up in our room. It was compact but all we needed. We had our own bathroom. There was only one bed, but it was queen-sized.

I changed into my running gear.

"Can you pick up dinner on your way back?" Ethan asked.

"Thai?"

"That'll do the trick." He hopped on and sprawled across the bed. "I'm going to have a nap."

"I'll be back in about an hour."

I took the stairs two at a time down to the front door and jogged out onto the sidewalk. It was fully dark now, but the streets were well-lit. I would run to the brewery on the east side of the peninsula and back. Then head into town to secure us some food.

I was soaked by drizzle by the time I walked into the Thai restaurant. I was thankful I wouldn't have to wait too long for our meal. My core was starting to chill and become uncomfortable.

"Liam?"

I looked over my shoulder at the senior man standing behind me.

Fucking Erik, my birth father.
