Even the guys are all in blazers over collared shirts, dark jeans, and dress shoes.
I took the liberty of ordering all of the appetizers already.” Noah chimes in, always all about the food.
“Great, I’m starving.” Brix replies, just as the server brings out several large plates of different appetizers, and one large seafood tower.
“I figured we would try a little of everything and see how the chef is holding up here. We are actually friends from cooking school, so I promised a rave review.” Noah smiles as he starts loading up his plate with different types of seafood, fried, blackened, and chilled.
I try a little of everything and am amazed at how many different ways you can cook a shrimp or crab. I’m used to just getting boils mostly, blackened or fried seafood every once in a while. This is unlike any seafood I have ever tasted before. I had never even heard of lobster escargot before, now I will never forget the amazing flavor of that tiny but explosive bite. I have to admitthat everything we get is delicious down to the best hurricane I have ever had.
We all unanimously pass on desert. I’m too full to even think about putting anything else in my mouth.
Me and the girls go to the restroom while the guys go pull the cars around before we head out to the club they have been talking about relentlessly.
They have a meeting with the Delamere brothers. Emily is actually related to them and has been giving us little details about all of them all day. Just a few drinks to schmooze, as Brix put it, and then we have the rest of the night to have fun.
When we enter the club, I can’t help but compare the feel of it to Afterlife. This club is bright, with pops of neon everywhere, like we are in the eighties. I realize quickly that this place is more of a rave type of bar, when I was expecting some kind of new hoity toity kink club or something.
They have foam and neon splatter paint flying everywhere while people wear glow stick necklaces, bracelets, and crowns, dancing and jumping around having the time of their lives.
The music is not what I would call anything but noise, but I find myself moving to the fast-paced beat, bobbing my head.
Brixon turns from the bar, “Here, try this.” He shouts over the loud thump of the bass.
I take the drink and wrap my lips around the paper straw, rolling my eyes. Nowhere in Florida will you find a plastic straw. I get it, but they fall apart before I ever finish a drink. I smile as I sip on the fruity cocktail through cardboard, moaning in satisfaction.
“Yum!” I yell back grinning from ear to ear, knowing that I will suck these down without a problem tonight. I can’t even taste the alcohol.
Brix laces his fingers through mine, leading me up a staircase to VIP seating. I watch Liam look at the bouncer and cock his head. The guy looks him up and down, before greeting him, “Mr. Vandever.” In a low gruff voice, a second before letting us by, staring each of the guys down.
Noah notices the bouncer’s eyes stop on Lily and roam in appreciation.
“Eyes back in your head if you want to keep them, Matt.” The bouncers’ eyes quickly move to Noah who stands a few inches shorter than him. Bouncer Matt’s eyes go wide as he stammers out, “S-Sorry boss,” before lowering his eyes to the floor as he steps further aside.
Damn, my little bro is a badass now. I’m so proud. He is a far cry from the kid I used to have to fight someone for picking on every day in elementary school.
We all sit in several bright colored booths surrounding one long table. We order drinks and I watch the dancers on little round stages enjoy themselves. They seem to be lost in the musicwithout a care in the world for as long as the song is playing. I’m mesmerized by their movements covered in bubbles and bright neon paint.
I know that feeling well.
The broody and very handsome Delamere brothers from Georgia show up, commanding attention as they enter the private space. There are three of them each with a beyond stunning date on their arms.
The amount of testosterone and perfume filling the space is stifling, but fun to watch as all the men size each other up. I’m waiting to see if they pull their dicks out and ask the waitress for a measuring tape with their whiskey.
“Emily, you look absolutely stunning little cousin. It’s good to see you.” The biggest man starts off.
“Champ!” Emily gushes as she scoots out of the booth quickly once we all stand to greet the small group. She falls into his open arms, hugging him tightly. I guess she is closer with the brothers than I realized.
Champ is the oldest of the brothers, and the one Em talked about the most today.
I turn my head to see how Liam is taking another man with his arm around his princess. He is actually giving them an adoring smile. Champ is her cousin, so I guess Liam won’t be a brut with her family.
His smile tells more though. I used to be able to read Liam. He holds his cards a little closer to his chest than he used to, but I know that smile. He is happy for her. How does he know more about their relationship than I do?
I shake the notion as Emily turns and starts introducing the men, “This is Champ, Legend, and Legacy.” She points to each of the gorgeous men. You can tell they are brothers with their jet-black hair, pale icy blue eyes, and perfect panty dropping smiles.
Emily turns, introducing each of our Saints and then me and Lily. I don’t miss the way all three of the men move their eyes between us, smirking in a way that makes me a little uneasy.
Now I just feel an ick that I can’t explain.
