“Okay.”
“I kissed her.”
“Youkissed Addi?” Brody reconfirms, and Raiden nods.
“Adrianna? Yes.”
“Okay,” Cassian grinds out before Brody can interject. There’s a glimmer of excitement in his eyes that tells me he’s happy to agree with whatever Raiden suggests at this stage.
“I am not comfortable with any of these feelings,” Raiden continues, swirling his hands around, and Cassian scoffs.
“You’re telling me.” I press my lips together to bite back the smile, but it quickly vanishes at Raiden’s worry.
“But I’m even more uncomfortable with her out of my sight. It feels like my skin is crawling.”
Well, damn.
“I’m not claiming her,” Cassian declares, taking a step back.
“I thought you already had?” I interject, cocking my brow at him, and he sticks his middle finger up at me.
“Technically, she claimed me,” he corrects, his eyes continuing to darken.
“Not by choice,” Brody chimes in, earning a glare from the grumpy wolf.
“We’re not asking for specifics right now.”
“It feels like now is the time for specifics,” I add, amused at the way they’re acting in the midst of all this.
“Do you even like her?” Cassian bites, turning his wrath my way.
“What does that have to do with the situation?” I push back, instantly regretting opening my mouth. I’d rather not be put under the spotlight right now.
“It has everything to do with the situation.”
“I’m quite certain it doesn’t. Besides, you guys are too amusing to distract from. Please, proceed,” I repeat, my fingers starting to tingle with their gazes all turned my way. No, thank you.
“I vote we claim her,” Brody announces, lifting his hand in the air while bouncing on the balls of his feet.
“Thank you!” Raiden hollers, swinging his arm around his friend’s shoulder as they find some kind of solace in agreeing with each other.
“I don’t,” Cassian barks, and it’s no real surprise.
“That leaves it to Kryll,” Raiden states, making all eyes aim back at me.
Fuck.
“So your opiniondoesmatter in this situation. Would you look at that?” Cassian points out with a raised eyebrow.
“Don’t get smug. It’s unbecoming,” I grumble, folding my arms over my chest.
“Unbecoming? Fuck off. Place a vote so we can go and eat.”
“I’m not placing any vote.” I’m standing my ground on this shit right now. There’s no way.
“That’s how this works. We vote. On everything. Now isn’t any different.”
“Thanks for reminding me,” I mutter, squeezing the back of my neck to try to ease the rising tension, but it does nothing to calm me down.
