“I know there’s an underlying issue between you and Scarlett, and I will find out what it is. And if there’s anything that goes against my beliefs and the laws of this pack, even the Goddess will not be able to protect anyone from my wrath. No one in this pack is irreplaceable… remember that. Now get the fuck out!” I spit, glaring at the man who leans against the wall.
He nods. “Yes, Alpha. As you command,” he says quietly. “But I do want you to know there’s nothing more. I’ll be respectful, but she loses her temper quicker than I can understand why. But I understand.”
He lowers his head before turning and leaving, the door shutting behind him with a snap. I take a deep breath, trying to calm my raging anger, and let out a loud growl before I punch the wall hard, destroying the wooden panelling completely.
I growl, “Fuck it!” Today has not started off in the way I wanted.
A short while later, Liam and Aaron show up, instantly realising something is up.
“What happened?” Aaron asks, becoming serious.
“Not much. But is it just me or has Hank become way more of a prick than he was? Like I’ve never had issues with him, but I don’t know, he seems to be way more arrogant than I remember.”
Aaron chuckles humourlessly. “I don’t know. I always found him pretty obnoxious.”
“He has changed. I have noticed it lately, and he and Scarlett are definitely not on good terms. I wish he’d leave her alone,” Liam says quietly as he sits down on one of the armchairs across from me. I nod, swivelling my chair side-to-side slowly.
“Yeah… Well, keep an eye on him. For now, Scarlett and I are going on a road trip up to the Black Storm Pack. So you boys are in charge,” I explain.
I want to make Liam my Delta, even if it’s against the laws of pack hierarchy. I want to be able to choose my own Beta and Delta, not have them chosen for me. Liam is more than capable and he’s incredibly strong, smart and patient. Just as a delta should be.
Above all, I should be able to trust them no matter what.
“What are you thinking?” Liam asks.
“Nothing. So here is what I wanted implemented in the training structure.” I hold out the file to them, thinking maybe I should have a word with Dad once I’m back before I go making changes.
And maybe I need to ask Scarlett again what exactly is going on between her and Hank, we got pretty distracted last night… I lick my lips thinking of all the alone time we’ll be spending together on this trip and I can’t help but smirk.
This is going to be fun.
It’s late afternoonand I’m ready to go but Scarlett has apparently forgotten something.
“Seriously, Scarlett? You had all day to pack! Why are you so careless?” Jessica calls from the kitchen, where she is working on a huge batch of cupcakes for a baby shower. The smell of freshly baked cakes is tempting, but I’m not about to ask for one.
“Mama! I need my charger, it’s not my fault I forgot it!” Scarlett shouts exasperatedly as she runs down the steps two at a time, jumping the last four making her yummy tits bounce, and I am definitely appreciating all the goods I’m getting to see as she rushes around.
She shoves the charger into her bag and stands up straight.“All done!” she says breathlessly, making me and Dad exchange looks before we look at her.
“You’re crazy, Red,” I say, trying not to focus on how her chest is heaving as she catches her breath or how her hair falls in front of her eyes messily. Dad chuckles as Scarlett glowers at me.
“You’re not that late,” Dad says, hugging her. “I’m sure this trip will be beneficial to you both and the chance to spend quality sibling time.”
There definitely won’t be sibling time in the way he wants.
I glance at Red and she’s staring at me, both of us knowing that this trip is dangerous, for her anyway. Because I want her badly and we are going to have plenty of time away from all the watchful eyes around us.
“Mm,” Scarlett hums, as she leans down to grab her suitcase when I reach down and take it from her. She’s packed way more than I have, as I tried to downsize as much as possible. She hugs Jessica goodbye as I give her a nod and hug Dad before I exit, getting the luggage into the small compartment of my red Audi R8 Spyder.
Her stuff takes up the entire trunk and so I shove my bag behind the passenger seat. She’ll fit, she ain’t that tall.
“You sure packed a lot...” I remark, moving her seat a little more forward so my bag will fit.
“Well, when you waste money on such expensive cars that can’t even store a decent amount of luggage, this is what happens,” she retorts.
I cock a brow. I’m sure Indigo said this was her dream car and that was specifically why I got it, to annoy her and to be honest, it is a sexy car. Win, win.
“This car is sexy, so stop being jealous and get your ass inside,” I retort, getting into the driver’s seat.
