This isn’t fucking over. I won’t tolerate disrespect. I’ll teach you a lesson, Scarlett,Hank promises through the mind-link.

“Come on, Hank. Let’s go,” Fiona whispers, dragging her brother away.

“Yeah, fuck off!” I snarl.

Just you fucking wait, you’re going to pay for these scratches!Hank’s words only make my rage heighten. I glare at him as Fiona leads him away and I continue to fail in setting myself free.

Elijah’s got me completely off the ground, so I’m not even able to get a proper footing to throw him off.

“I’ll take her inside. Best to call it a night,” Elijah says to the others.

“Are you going to be ok, Scarlett?” Liam asks.

“Tell your friend to let me go!” I snarl.

“Not happening,” Elijah grunts as I hit him in the ribs. “Fuck. Calm down, Red!”

“Don’t tell me what to do! I’m going to kill that bastard!” I snap, as Elijah suddenly lifts me up and tosses me over his shoulder pinning my arms to my waist as he wraps one arm tightly around me, carrying me inside as everyone else leaves.

“You can’t threaten to kill a pack member, Scarlett. No matter how much they irritate you,” he says sharply, which only makes my blood boil, feeling his Alpha aura emanating from him and feeling it weigh down on me making me growl.

“Don’t try to command me!” I hiss.

“Not that it seems to work,” he sighs as he carries me upstairs.

Although I am still struggling, I am no longer shouting, notwanting Mama or Dad to hear me. He tries my door handle, but I locked it earlier.

“Put me down.”

“I’m not done with you, Red,” he replies quietly. I know he’s pissed, but I don’t really fucking care.

He opens his own door, stepping inside, continuing to ignore me, even when I try to kick him in the stomach. He shuts the door and strides over to his bed, dumping me unceremoniously onto it making me whimper as my head hits the mattress.

His eyes dip to my breasts and I glare at him, hating that he’s distracting me. I sit up only for him to instantly push me back, making me gasp as he pins me to the bed, one knee on the bed beside me.

“Calm down, Red. What the hell happened?” he asks me, something I think might be concern in his eyes, as he searches mine for an answer. I’m far too aware of the chiselled angle of his jaw, the way his lips curve, the way his hair falls over his forehead…

“Don’t get in my business. Did I ask you for help?” I growl, trying not to pay attention to our proximity.

“I’m your Alpha. It’s my job to keep my pack in check. How can I help if you won’t tell me what happened?” he asks in exasperation.

Help me? No one can fucking help me without me being painted as the bad guy.“I don’t care. Now get the hell off me,” I warn him.

“Not until you’re calm,” he replies stubbornly. Struggling against his hold, I aim a kick at him, but he’s faster and stronger. In a flash, he has his leg over mine, straddling me as he sits on my thighs, restricting my legs completely as he glares down at me.

My heart thunders as I stop struggling, my eyes flickering to his bulging biceps and I’m very aware of our position.

“Don’t make this harder than it has to be, Red,” he warns, his eyes darkening.

I frown, breathing hard as my anger begins to fade. I take a deep shuddering breath, only for it to be stolen from me when his gaze dips to my breasts. He swallows hard as his eyes, now cobalt blue, flicker up to mine, making it harder to breathe.

What is that emotion in them?

“Okay. I’m calm. Now let me go,” I whisper, trying not to glare at him. My heart hammers as his gaze falls to my lips and I hear the change in his heartbeat. “Elijah, get off me,” I breathe, feeling my core throb. His eyes flicker up to mine and he licks his lips, his piercing flashing.

“Call me crazy but don’t tell me you haven’t thought about it…” he whispers, leaning closer.

Don’t…
