"I’m leaving! I won't risk staying here. I thought it was safe!" He grumbled.

He had actually got hurt when he’d tried to act brave, the Wendigo had scratched his leg. Hats off to him for not just running though. I didn’t heal him as he wasn’t really that hurt, but since being here all he had done was complain and take up an entire bed. Even Jasmin had to come and tell him to calm down at one point. We had exchanged looks but I wasn’t going to show how I felt, or how it hurt knowing she was the one who would be by Alejandro’s side.

I was truly angry at him for ignoring his pack member's behaviour. Don’t get me wrong, I still did feel something for him... but regardless of it, I had to keep my emotions in check…

"Kia… Are you listening?" Aunty Indy said as I passed a bandage to one of the nurses.

I hadn't been here long, and I wasn’t that old, but the staff already respected me. I felt the nurses looking at me and I knew why. My aura was completely different now, I guess like me, they wondered what had happened. The rumour that the attack was linked to me was also making its rounds, but those were shut down instantly when one of Alejandro’s top-ranked men came around.

I’d learnt he had squads that were led by captains who were ‘High ranked Warriors’, most of whom were Beta-ranked wolves or from Alpha families.

I walked to the next young man and gave him a small smile. He flashed me a sexy smirk and I instantly knew he was one of those players. Another one of Alejandro's annoying men it seems!

"Hey Beautiful, I'm actually glad I ended up here. I mean, I heard a lot from Luca about you. The name’s Mathew." He said.

"Really?" I said, "Arms up."

"Anywhere you want them Doc?"

I rolled my eyes.

"Behave." I said as one of the nurses passed me some of the bandages with the herbs on them. She had asked me earlier why I was visiting all the patients when they had been tended to, and I had told her I just wanted to. I really didn't see why I needed to keep my ability hidden, but I knew if I stepped out of line, I'll be stopped from being allowed to come here.

"If I behave... Do I get a reward?" He asked with a wink, putting his arms behind his head.

I smirked, I had to admit the guy was charming. Before I could even reply, I heard a low growl. My heart thudded as I sensed the dangerous aura.

"Kiara."

My stomach did a flip as my name rolled off his tongue in a sensual manner. Goddess, help me… I took a deep breath and turned to face the Alpha King himself. Why did he just look even sexier now? A few strands of his hair, which was usually always slicked back, fell in front of his forehead. I tried not to check him out as I raised an eyebrow questioningly.

I am not forgiving him.

Mathew remained silent, his smirk gone as he lowered his head in respect to his Alpha.

"What?" I asked icily.

He narrowed his eyes. "We need to talk."

"I don’t want to talk to you." I said quietly.

"Your Dad is on his way." Alejandro said, now crossing his arms as I found my gaze falling to his bulging muscles... remembering how he had hooked my legs over them as he fucked me… I blushed lightly, looking back at his face as he raised an eyebrow.

WAIT. Did he just say Dad?!

"Oh no, why?!" I asked alarmed.

"Let’s talk." He said.

I sighed and finished off with Mathew as Alejandro stood there, his eyes boring into my back.

"See you soon, doctor." Mathew said with a small smirk.

"Sure, I’ll look forward to it." I said, smiling back at him.

I could sense Alejandro’s anger. Well too bad. He did kiss Jasmin in front of me. We are nothing, so why should I care?

I took off my doctor's coat. Underneath, I was still dressed in the same blue dress. I felt his eyes on me and I knew it was a really bad move considering I promised myself I was going to stay away from him… but I couldn't resist. I pulled my hair out of the scrunchy and ruffled my long locks. I didn’t look at him as I ran my fingers through my hair and stretched, arching my back as I did so before I spinning around on my heel. I waved at Mathew, whose eyes had darkened at my subtle move.
