“I want all of you,” I say, looking at him over my shoulder.

“You have all of me,” he says, leaning over me again and stroking my clit.

“Always?”

“Fucking always, Cadet. I’m all yours, and you’re all mine.”

He gives my clit a little pinch and I close my eyes, my teeth catching on my lip. “Show me,” I say. “Show me I’m all yours.”

He growls a deep, possessive sound that makes me snap my eyes open. His eyes darken further, staring into me and taking ownership of my soul.

In one quick movement, he wraps his arm around my torso and lifts me so my back is against his chest, and his nose burrows into my neck, tracing my mark and inhaling my scent. My body clenches around him from that touch to my mark. I’m right on the brink as he sinks his canines into me again, thumb caressing my clit and fingers playing with my nipple. I cry out and my head falls back against his shoulder, his hips slamming up into me even as I tremble and fall apart in his arms, and he pulses and releases inside me.

His moan against my neck as he comes with his teeth piercing my skin, deepening my mark and our connection, sends one last shockwave of pleasure through me, my hands clutching at his arm. We collapse forward, Reid cradling my body, his canines attached to me, and his cock deep in my pussy. He wraps himself around me as he removes himself, placing tiny kisses on my mark while I gasp from the loss of both his dick and his teeth.

We catch our breath, snuggled together on the couch, neither of us moving beyond our breathing and the subtle movements of our hands as we caress each other.

“Possessive much?” I ask, rolling to my other side to face him, pressing myself closer to his naked body.

His skin against mine, his heart beating under my touch, and his mark on my neck are more than I ever thought I’d have with him when we first met, and I know I’ll never tire of what we’re building together.

“I needed to make sure,” he says, tickling my spine with his fingertips. “I can’t lose you. I’ll mark you all the time if I have to, just so I know it’s real.”

“So that’s a yes, then.”

He laughs and closes his eyes, ducking his head to kiss me. “It’s a hell fucking yes.”

My arms circle his neck as we kiss, his dick hardening again between us as our bodies move against each other with the passion bubbling under our skin. He lifts me into his arms, my legs wrapping around his hips as he carries me to the bed, tossing me on the black-and-white striped quilt before crawling over me, ready to make good on his promise to spend the night christening every room in our new house.

And I am more than ready to hold him to that promise.

Chapter 51

REID

Faintlightpokesatthe edge of my consciousness. A lean but muscular body stretches along the length of mine. The scent of peaches, strawberries, and peonies fills my nostrils, and I smile to myself, burying my nose into the base of Taryn’s neck, placing a tiny kiss there that sends a shudder through her sleeping body.

That’s my girl. Even in sleep, her body responds to my touch. Even in sleep, she reacts to my possessiveness, to my claim on her heart. Our once tenuous bond is stronger than I thought it would be, ready to weather whatever life throws our way.

My hand moves to her stomach, below her belly button. Her belly is flat, not yet showing even a hint of a curve, but I know our pup is in there, growing and thriving.

A pup. Our pup. My pup. Mydaughter. If anyone asked me three weeks ago if I thought a pup would be in my future, I’d have laughed in their face. But now, she’s all I can think about. My every decision is made with her in mind. She’s the sun, and I revolve around her.

She may not be mine by blood, but she’s mine in all the ways that matter. There was never a doubt in my mind, not a sliver of hesitation. She is my Sour Patch, and I will fight anyone who says otherwise, and Selene help anyone who thinks they can take her away from me.

I keep my hand pressed to Taryn’s stomach as I curl around her body more, that thought awakening every protective instinct in my wolf and me. I hold in a growl and focus on her body in my arms, using her presence to relax me and anchor myself. There’s no word on Dominic, but if he’s alive, he won’t make things easy for us.

At least Taryn is marked. I can take comfort in that thought, in the knowledge my claim on her is irrefutable. Everything else we will take as it comes and face as a team. A united front.

I kiss her neck one more time, then roll away from her, tucking the blankets around her body and placing the feather pillows I slept on right next to her so she stays warm and wrapped in my scent while I get ready for the day.

I move around the room using quick, quiet steps, rushing through my morning routine and throwing on jeans, a T-shirt, a gray hoodie, and a pair of wool socks on my feet. The storm is over, but it’s frigid and the snow is thick on the ground, and even with our shifter genes protecting us from extreme temperatures, the cold seeping into the house has the hardwood floors almost too chilly to touch.

I tiptoe back to Taryn’s side and lean over the bed, kissing her on the lips, then lowering the quilt and kissing her belly, right above where my Sour Patch grows. “I love you, Sour Patch,” I whisper, my lips tickling Taryn’s stomach. “I can’t wait to hold you in my arms.”

My head lifts and Taryn stares at me, a sleepy smile on her face and her eyes sparkling. I cover her naked body back up, avoiding looking at her gorgeous breasts and hardening nipples and focusing on her face. Not that I’d say no to a quickie. But her body is spent after our very long night, and she needs to regain her strength so she can take care of our pup.

“Good morning,” I say, kissing her nose.
