I can’t argue with him.
Ride To My Oasis
~ASTRAEA~
“We’re driving?” I ponder before I give Ember and Blaze their own set of pets and scratches. They’re happily licking my face before scurrying away with Lily, Harley, Sunshine, Clove, and Thor. I swear they act like a pack because the moment they’re out in the massive backyard, they’re howling in unison before chasing one another.
“Sort of,” Kai admits, his voice coming from behind me.
I have to pause and admire his look because fuck…
Goodness, this man looks good in all black.
“Are we attending a funeral?” I ponder. I lick my bottom lip while admiring him from head to toe.
It takes his deep chuckle to pull me out of obviously being smitten with him in his black ensemble. He takes my hand, pressing it lightly to his lips.
My palm tingles at his touch.
“Funeral of all my enemies trying to create a hate train between me and Kenji,” he offers in amusement. “Certainly.”
“Ugh,” I groan. “Don’t tell me that shit is still trending?”
“Wild and free,” he hums as he wraps his hand around mine, encouraging me to follow him as we leave the pups to be offwith their mischief. Kai ensures there are two dog sitters on the property at all times, which has been marvelous, with us touring around from studio to studio.
We pass by my “temporary room,” which I haven’t been able to see until something catches my eye. Pausing in my steps, I can’t help but take a peek, only for me to gasp in surprise before I let Kai go and run into the room to see the beautiful grand scheme of it.
“WHAT IS THIS?!” I don’t even know where to look first before I’m squealing and skipping straight into my nest as if it’s nighttime and not the middle of the day.
Clearly, I’m letting my Omega instinctive thoughts overrule my senses because I’m nestled into the biggest, comfiest beany couch thing. It’s even more epic because it’s decorated with different t-shirts that I know are from each member of our new pack.
My heart swells bigger and bigger with each scent I pick up. I can tell exactly which shirts are whose as I pick the designated t-shirts that resonate with my men.
Icarus’ black fitted t-shirt that I’m sure he sweated buckets in. Then there’s Kenji’s long shirt that’s far too oversized with a cool design in front that screams gothic paradise. The tank top has to be Kai’s, something he probably wore when he was playing with the dogs, but I can catch hints of all their scents. And, of course, Nathaníel’s white shirt that I remember seeing him wear when we were in the studio trying different sounds.
I don’t even acknowledge Kai’s in the room and sit quietly next to my little oasis until I catch onto the glint of a guitar pick.
“Oh…” It takes me a few added seconds for it to click in. “OMG! I’m so sorry! I didn’t think you guys were going to make this room so…” I don’t even know what word could truly describe the vibe of my space. “Homey? That’s not even a proper word to explain it.”
“Homey works,” he assures me with a sweet smile. “Do you like it?”
“Like it? I LOVE IT!” I squeal and wiggle over until I’m at the edge of the beanie and next to him. “Sorry. I got distracted.”
“You got excited and very comfortable,” he teases with a wink. “Your reaction proves you adore the changes we did.”
“Yes,” I whisper and admire the room that’s so full of life. The bed itself is huge. I can tell it’s a queen-size poster bed, which I’m a bit thankful for because I’d be swimming in a king-size. Queen is a good balance to fit me and even be sandwiched between two of the guys.
It would be a tight fit with Icarus and Nathaníel, but Kenji and Kai would fit nicely…
The poster bed has a nice matte black base but is accentuated with a metallic purple-blue base that shifts depending on the angle the light hits it. The decor follows the pattern with gold accents with the occasional fuzzy white blanket and the nice hanging egg chair that’s decorated with blue and purple flowers and twinkling lights.
The corner is absolutely perfect, with a bunch of books I’ve wanted to read but never had the time to sit down and enjoy. The spot is already tempting, making me even more excited at the idea of sitting there.
The desk space on the opposite of the room is not only inviting but looks extremely comfortable. I can tell all my important documents are filed alphabetically in binders along a black bookshelf, while I notice the metallic blue-purple filing cabinet that I’m pretty confident will carry all my NDA documentation that needs to be concealed just for me.
The chair looks extremely comfortable, with a golden accent, while the seat and back cushion are a fuzzy cushion material that looks supportive and warm. I can already envision sitting in thisplace in the wintertime, brainstorming various songs that can hit those feelings in the heart of the season.
Anything I can think of is in this space, and the nest is perfectly placed to make me feel like I can nestle and forget anything bothering me.
