I lift one shoulder. It's not much of a response, but I have a hard time making plans for the future. It feels like daring fate. "Can you explain what Padilla can bring to the table?" I redirect the conversation back to the plan.
"Damien doesn't have a home base right now. He's likely hiding in one of the clubs he does business out of. Those are going to be impossible to break into since they'll be watching for us, but if we can lure him to another club. We can put our people in place before he arrives and draw him in using Raven," Javier explains.
"You want to put my wife up for auction at a sex club?" My voice is flat, but he would be mistaken not to hear the threat laced in my words.
"And Padilla is going to allow this?" Raven asks, not letting anyone know if she's considering the plan.
"David is on his way. He'll explain everything," Javier says.
Natalie's head jerks up. "What about Tempest?"
"She's coming with him. We'll keep her safe here," Holbrook comforts his sister.
"Good. We can't let Damien get her. She's too much like me and Raven. He'll destroy her," she mutters.
An ominous feeling worms its way inside of me. Damien's obsession with Raven is sick. She's too much like the girl he abducted years ago. What would he do with a little girl who looked just like both of them but is not related to him?
