The first guy crosses his meaty arms across his chest, clearly trying to show off what he thinks is muscle tone. "There's no law against talking. We're paying customers."
Carlo tosses the bill the man used to buy his beer back at him. "Not now you're not."
The second man makes the mistake of taking a step too close to intimidate Carlo. Teddy told me before we came that Carlo is ex special forces, and not to be fooled by his shorter stature. Not that he's short, probably more average height. He just seems short in comparison to our guys who are all over six foot tall. Not that it matters though. In seconds Carlo has the man's arm pinned behind his back and twists his wrist until the man yowls in pain.
His friend goes to help him, but Carlo proves he's equally good with his legs. A couple of kicks that seem straight out of an eighties action movie and both men are neutralized.
"Like I said, gentlemen, it's time for you to leave." He all but drags both men toward the door and shoves them out where Teddy and the Chaos agents are waiting.
"Carlo, you gave me two new friends to show my toys to and I didn't get you anything," Teddy says through the ear piece. Carlo laughs and shakes his head.
Jenna stumbles, either because the drug is kicking in or because she just failed Damien a second time.
"Jenna, are you okay?" Even I don't think I sound sincere, but I don't need to. I just need to let Sin and Lucien know they can come out.
They appear behind the bar seconds later, and both of them vault over it rather than take a few extra steps to walk around it.
Sin drops his arm around my shoulders and kisses my temple. "Princess, you got me a present too?"
He turns his full attention to Jenna. Even when he and I were antagonizing each other and he was doing his level best to push me away I was never on the receiving end of this look. "Hello, Jenna. I think we've got some catching up to do."
Her eyes widen with fear then roll back into her head.
