“Truth or Dare?” His smirk makes me tense.
“Truth.”
“How many guys have you slept with?” The fuck? Is this revenge or what?
“Slept with or had sex?” She takes my beer and drinks it. “That's what you want to know, right?”
“Oooohhhhh…” her friends echo in chorus while I met my brothers’ eyes.
“That's a million-dollar question,” squeaks Amanda.
“You don't have to answer,” I murmur, knowing damn well I was her first. Wait, that’s why he’s pissed? That he hasn’t had a taste? I’m wondering what their friends know or if he’s that stupid to let her admit it.
“Oh no, I want to.” She smiles. “I've slept with three guys in my life: Dad, for the nightmares after mom’s death, you, and Rock. And I had sex with one.”
When the news sinks in his little brain, he gasps. “You haven't.”
“Boom! That's my bitch!” laughs Kelly. Blake is fuming and if a stare could kill, I’ll be dead right now. If he was too stupid and let her slip through his fingers, it’s not my fault. Ashley is a keeper, and mine.
Ash spins the bottle, and it ends again on Luke. “Ya know the drill, which one?”
“Truth.”
“Have you told your dad The Eagles have made an offer for you?”
What? No way! The kid with The Eagles?
“Dad would never allow me to leave the Devils.” He sighs. “But I’m planning to do it tomorrow.”
“I knew you looked way too familiar. Luke Thomas, the new left winger of Devils.” Mac nods. “You have a fan, kiddo.”
“Thank you.”
“Trust your gut, Luke; if you want to join The Eagles then spread your wings and fuck your dad, he got his chance at time. We’re talking of an AHL team not a minor one and you know it’ll open you a door straight to an NHL team.”
“Dad’s always been a Devils’ fan and I’m proud of being one of them, but it feels suffocating.”
Ash gets on her feet. “Here’s to your future, loads of money and less broken bones,.” The laughs erupt. “And we’ll be there to cheer you the hell up Eagle!”
“Go, go Eagle!”
His eyes glaze up. “Only if you promise to keep in touch, Ash.”
“You’ll stick with me bro.” They clink their bottles and we do too.
“Okay, it’s my turn and for fuck’s sake make it end on Rock.” He winks. “You’re the only one who hasn’t played yet and since it’s my last one before heading home.” He manually spins thebottle pointing it to me. “Oh, look. Seems like someone up there has heard my prayers. Truth or Dare?”
“That’s cheating,” I point out with a laugh. “But since it’s your last shot, Dare.”
His gaze shifts to Princess and then on me. “Ashley needs a bath.”
“No I don’t.” she scoffs. “plus he would never…” she begins when I pick her up and walk toward the lake. “Rock, don't you dare.”
“What if I do it?”
“You will regret it.”
I walk up the deck. “Oh, really?” I ask before throwing her into the water.
