“Eric, sorry, Marlene scored two. Apparently, Marlene makes a weird cackling noise when she comes. And she’ll only do missionary as well,” Lindy continued.

Several women tried to drag their husbands away. David once more got to his feet and tried to snatch the book from Lindy, only to be intercepted by Roger, who actually knocked him out.

One by one, and somehow miraculously avoiding David getting his hands on her, Lindy called out all the women who’d fucked the asshole. Apart from the four women who David deemed frigid, he’d done the entire cul-de-sac. And there were thirty houses here. Even worse, a few times he’d fucked a couple of mothers and daughters and compared them.

Within an hour, the street was full of fighting and arguing couples. My brothers and I were highly entertained as women whose husbands weren’t home disappeared. Then my eyes caught on Lindy, and my heart thudded.

Lindy stood amongst everyone, looking lost and forlorn. Sadness was etched on her face, and I could see the tears falling silently down her cheeks. I wanted nothing more than to wrap my arms around Lindy and protect her from this. Where that fuckin’ feeling came from, who knew because I wasn’t a touchy-feely person. Emotion was for saps, and I was a brother in an MC.

Lindy raised her head and looked straight at me. It was as if she could sense me watching her. I held her gaze.

‘Fight!’ I mouthed.

Lindy’s brows dipped, and then she wiped the tears from her face. Lindy straightened her shoulders and lifted her chin.

‘Good girl,’ I mouthed, and she smiled slightly.

David was trying to sneak away, but the husbands weren’t letting him. All around, hell was breaking wide open in this quiet cul-de-sac. The polished life of suburbia was being tarnished as we bore witness. They’d all looked down at me when I moved in, but guess who was hiding dirty secrets? I was thoroughly enjoying the drama.

Lindy walked back inside the house and shut the door. David dashed towards it and used his key, but Lindy must have bolted it. The asshole started beating on the door, but Lindy didn’t answer.

“What a shit storm!” Berserker laughed, and I nodded.

My gut told me this wasn’t over. Lindy was up to something. As we kept watching, sipping our beer, Lindy’s bedroom window opened.

I began laughing as she started throwing armfuls of David’s clothes out onto the front yard. Those close by stopped and watched as David howled about his expensive clothing.

Lindy continued chucking it all out, not even bothering to have bagged it. Socks, underwear, belts, everything came flying out. Then when she was done, she started launching aftershave bottles like they were grenades.

A screech from the top of the cul-de-sac made us turn and stare, and we saw Eric throwing a suitcase in the car. Marlene was screaming, and Eric turned to her with a filthy look.

“I’ll be at a hotel until I decide. But knowing David fucked every woman in this street and then some, I don’t think I’ll be sleeping with you ever again!” Eric yelled.

“Burn!” Fists laughed.

“Well, Lindy certainly got revenge,” Pipes stated.

“Ain’t no lie there,” Berserker agreed. Our president relaxed back as he carried on enjoying the drama. “This is better than TV.”

“No, shit,” I agreed.

Lindy continued to throw David’s crap out as we watched, and when she finally ran out of things to throw, she locked the window and disappeared.

While my brothers cheered her actions, I knew she was hurting. Lindy, the epitome of the woman of my dreams, was unattainable. She wouldn’t cope with our lifestyle or shack up with a biker. Lindy’s type might have short-term flings with us, but they wouldn’t foresee a future together.

Shit, I was thirty years old and eager to settle. I wanted kids: a boy to bring into the club and a girl to spoil. But again, I didn’t want trash; I wished for decent, clean, and loving. That made me a sap, but so be it. I glanced across at Lindy’s place.

That had been her parent’s home, and they’d given it to her and fucked off to tour the country. Good for them. David hadno claim to the property, especially since he and Lindy weren’t married. That protected Lindy, and I was glad for it.

Night had fallen when David finally picked all his shit up off the front yard. Asshole continued to shout stuff at the house, but it remained dark. I knew Lindy was in there, and she’d be crying. Lindy was the type of girl who gave her relationship one hundred and ten per cent. She was the straight-up real deal. Once again, I felt a tug on my shrivelled heart. Lindy hadn’t deserved this.

As David jumped in his car, I studied his face. He only cared about paying for a hotel and the inconvenience. That made me angry. The asshole had been lucky enough to have everything I wanted, and he’d pissed on it.

“Suppose I better get off,” Berserker said, standing. “Got a date with the hotel receptionist.”

“Pearl Tanner?” I asked, looking up.

“Yeah.” Berserker nodded. “Problem?”
