Aisley doesn’t notice anything different and grumbles, “I hope there’s ice cream up here along with the surprise.”

Nyx looks around and gasps before turning toward me with wide eyes. I know what she’s seeing. There are a few pictures from their house mixed in with pictures of us along with little things that belong to my girls mixed in around the living room area.

“Why are there pictures of Andrew here?” Nyx’s voice is cautious, but she doesn’t sound mad or in pain.

I wrap an arm around her waist and pull her to me until we’re chest to chest. “I can’t take another night without the two ladies who own my heart with me. It was already torture, but I needed a little time to make some changes to the suite. Now they’re done and it’s time for you to move into your new home.”

Nyx blinks, her face a blank mask that makes it impossible for me to tell what she’s thinking. I feel like I can’t breathe, fear making me second guess my actions. When her lips start to tip up into a slow smile, I suck in a breath and my entire body relaxes.

Her voice is filled with cautious hope, “You moved us in here?”

“It’s where you belong.”

Nyx tips up on her tiptoes and kisses my lips softly. It’s quick, but it’s filled with so much emotion. “Love you, Sam,” she murmurs against my lips.

I press my forehead against hers and memorize the way the gold flecks in her eyes sparkle with happiness. “Love you, my little warrior.”

“So, we’re living here now?” We turn just enough to see Aisley spinning around in the middle of the room with her arms spread out wide. She looks at us with pure joy written on her face. “Really?”

“Really,” I promise.

With an arm wrapped around Nyx’s shoulders, I start down the hallway that leads to the bedrooms. I stop at the first one and nod toward it. Even though I debated about which bedroom should be hers, I decided that since she’s our oldest pup it’ll be okay to put her in the farthest room from ours. That way when we have more pups, and I do plan on having more, we can set up a nursery closer to us.

Aisley lets out an excited yelp when she notices her name on the door. She looks up at us as she bounces on her toes.

“Go on,” I urge her, “check it out.”

When she pushes inside the room, Nyx and I are right behind her. Everything is set up and ready for her. I debated about making the room super girly but decided to keep it softer and more neutral. This way it’ll be able to grow with her. There’s a mural on one wall that looks like the purple clearing that’s my favorite place on pack lands. It’s a place where her imagination is allowed to run wild.

“It’s beautiful,” Nyx whispers.

“I love it,” Aisley almost screams.

I chuckle as I watch my pup run from one corner of the room to the other and then all around. She doesn’t leave an inch of the room unexplored. My wolf and I purr together, relieved and so damn pleased that she likes her new room.

“How about that ice cream?” I offer. When Aisley gives me a look that says she is not ready to leave her room, I can’t help but chuckle. “Not to worry, I made sure the kitchen up here is stocked with our favorite flavors.

“In that case, let’s go,” Aisley sasses and rushes out of her room.

I’m about to follow her, but Nyx stops me with a hand on my arm. When I turn to her, I notice one tear slide down her cheek. I brush it away with my thumb as I search her captivating eyes.

“Is this okay? Did I go too far? I know it’s only been a month since you officially joined the pack and I don’t want to push you, Nyx, but I want to keep moving forward. I need you both here. I need my family.”

Her hands come up to caress my jaw. “It’s perfect, Samuel,” she assures me. “This room and how you integrated us into your home is just right.”

“Our home,” I gently correct her.

She nods and smiles so brightly it’s like watching the sun rise. “Our home,” she agrees. She takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. “I’m ready.”

My eyebrows shoot up and hit my hairline. “I’m sorry?”

“She wants us to mark her,”my growls seductively.

My mouth falls open before I snap it closed, unsure if my wolf is right. I swallow hard and try to clear my throat, but my voice still comes out husky, “I think you need to spell it out for me, little warrior.”

“I’m ready to be yours completely, Sam,” her voice is a soft, but with an edge of steel to it. “I want you to mark me.”

I yank her against my chest, needing to feel her body mold to mine. “Do you know what you’re asking?” She narrows her eyes at me, but I smirk. “I just mean do you realize that if I mark you tonight then I’ll be announcing you as the Luna tomorrow before the run and before Marlene is inducted into the pack. We can do the ceremony whenever you want, but that’ll only be a formality”
