Time has flown by, but I’ve kept busy getting everything ready for today. It’s a big day and I want it to go perfectly. Even though I’ve been checking on the changes to the Alpha suite and keeping up with the work I needed to do for the pack, I’ve been able to spend the rest of my time with Nyx and Aisley.

I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. After today, everything is changing, and I’ll have my girls close.

I find myself smiling as I think about the day Nyx and Aisley came to visit me after Nyx told her daughter about our relationship. From the moment Aisley walked in, I knew she had something serious on her mind. There was no way I could have been prepared for finding out that Nyx talked to her about us being together. It was such a nice surprise, and I was thrilled athow Aisley accepted me with open arms.

Even though I was hoping we would let Aisley know what was happening between us, I wasn’t going to push Nyx about it. That was definitely something that had to happen at a pace Nyx was comfortable with.

I’m not sure why she decided that was the day to talk to Aisley, but I’m glad she did. My wolf and I had already accepted Aisley as our pup, but now everything is out in the open. Even when I’m not with them, I can feel the love of my females.

It’s made me stronger and happier.

Even the most mundane tasks I need to do for the pack are better because I know Nyx and Aisley are waiting for me.

The pack can feel the change as well. With Nyx in my life, I feel more settled and grounded. That’s a feeling that has trickled down to every level of the pack. There are more smiles and more laughter. Some of the wolves I was the most concerned about are taking a turn and improving.

Marlene is a great example. She’ll be inducted to the pack tomorrow night before the Full Moon Run. I thought we might have to put it off for a lot longer, just to make sure that she’s healthy and her wolf is strong enough for the link to form, but she’s been thriving. She’s been gaining weight and finding her place in the pack.

Her little baby bump has even made an appearance. That was a huge relief to me because it means her baby is growing and gaining strength just like their mom.

There is not a doubt in my mind that the time Nyx has been spending with her has helped her turn a corner. Yes, there is stillsadness in Marlene’s eyes and I’m sure she’s still in pain, but I also can sense how much lighter she is.

As I look across the dining room, I notice how intently Mike is watching Marlene. I hope something happens there because they would both benefit. Mike came to us not long after I took over as Alpha because his mate rejected him. He didn’t mean to cross into the territory. He figured he’d be a rogue for the rest of his life, but the Goddess had other plans for him.

His loyalty to me and the pack is unparalleled.

Marlene might not be ready, but I have a feeling Mike will wait for something more while forming a friendship with her. There’s a longing in his eyes when he looks at her, one I recognize. He hasn’t looked at any other of the females in the pack like that.

“Daddy Sammy,” Aisley’s voice pulls my attention away from Marlene and Mike. When I look at Aisley, she gives me the sweetest smile and bats her eye lashes at me. I barely stop myself from laughing at how damn adorable she is. “Can we have some ice cream after dinner?”

I make a humming sound and tap my chin like I have to think hard about her request. While I could look to Nyx to make sure it’s okay for me to say yes, I know that I don’t need to. The trust my little warrior has given me, especially the freedom she’s allowed me to build a relationship with our pup, makes me fall in love with her a little more every day.

“I think we can come up with some kind of treat,” I keep my response vague. Nyx sits up straighter in her seat after I tell them, “I do have a surprise for you ladies after dinner.”

Aisley grins while almost vibrating with excitement. “A surprise? What kind of surprise?” She drops her chin to her chest and levels me with a serious look. “Is it a good one?”

“I can’t say more or else it won’t be a surprise.”

Aisley rolls her eyes and huffs out an annoyed breath that has me biting back my laughter as Nyx tries to hide the smile on her face. There is something magical about my little warrior’s smile. I love seeing it.

“It’s done, Alpha,”Seth mind links me and I can’t help but smile right before I take my last bite of dinner as I thank him.

“That’s a big grin,” Nyx teases me.

I look at her and wink, not giving anything away. It’s obvious that she’s just as curious and excited about what I have up my sleeve as Aisley is. I’m a little nervous, but I think it’ll be a good surprise. My only concern is Nyx thinking I’ve overstepped.

If she does, then she’ll just have to get over it because it’s a done deal now.

There’s a slight whine in Aisley’s voice, “Is it after dinner yet?”

With a look between my girls, I grin and stand up. “Since you’re both done, I think it’s time. Follow me.”

I don’t look back as I head out of the dining room and up the stairs in the pack house. As much as I want to look back, my nerves won’t let me.

“They’re going to love it,”my wolf reassures me.

The moment I step into our suite, I can see the differences right away. I step aside and allow Nyx and Aisley to step inside after me.
