I released his head so he could stand, and he swept his arm under my legs, picking me up, walking around the bed and placing me carefully in the middle. He sat between my legs, looking down at me.
“You’re beautiful,” he said, kissing my ankle as he began crawling up my body. “You’re strong.” He kissed my knee. “You’re kind.” He kissed my core. “You’re amazing.” He kissed my stomach. “You’re a miracle.” He kissed my left breast.“You’re unbreakable.” He kissed my right breast, before pulling up so he was looking down into my eyes.
“You’re my mate,” he whispered, as he lined the head of his thick cock at my entrance and slid in, inch after inch, agonizingly slow.
He closed his eyes and rested his forehead against mine, his entire body trembling. He pulled back and thrust inside, making me moan at his slow torture. He withdrew again and opened his eyes to look down at me, and as I looked up into his beautiful brown irises, I felt the mate bond snap into place. My body exploded in sparks, making both of us gasp at the intensity of it.
“You’re mine,” he groaned as he thrust back in a little wildly.
“Yours. Forever yours,” I promised him, urging him to pick up speed.
He obliged, his canines lengthening as his eyes went to my neck.
“Can—”
“Please,” I begged him, turning my head to expose my neck to him.
Chris buried his face in my shoulder, licking, nipping and teasing as he pumped into me faster and harder with each snap of his hips. I was close to seeing stars when I felt his canines pierce my skin and I went careening over the edge, my body wrapping around him as my orgasm threatened to change the very definition of my existence.
I felt his emotions crash into me. Love, devotion and protection, shining above everything else. I sobbed as I let them envelop me in a protective bubble that I knew to be, in its very essence: Chris.
He slowed his thrusts as he helped me come down from my orgasm, but I clamped my walls around him on the next thrust, making him curse under his breath as he bucked his hips up. He picked up his speed again and I met him thrust for thrust. Hisarms began to shake and his rhythm became erratic. I brought his face down to meet mine in a kiss I hoped said everything I wanted to shout to the world. I pulled back a moment later, and pushed his hair to the side so I could have access to his neck. Nenetl pushed forward, lowering my canines as I zeroed in on the spot I’d been dreaming of sinking my teeth into, so I could finally claim him as I wanted to.
“Violet!” Chris roared when I sank my teeth and marked him as my mate.
He bucked into me, his cum rushing inside me as he shuddered above me with the force of his release. I removed my teeth from his shoulder, licking the wound closed, and Chris fell beside me when he was spent, pulling my body toward him until he was wrapped around my body, as closely as his soul was wrapped around mine.
“Mine,” I assured him, wiping his sweat-soaked hair away from his handsome face.
“I’ve been yours since that day at the bridge,” he admitted.
Chapter Forty-Nine
Bellarose
-Three months later-
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Councilman Gerard asked as he looked over the paperwork. “If you do this, and he comes back, he’ll have a claim over the alpha title, and you won’t know who he is anymore.”
“We’re sure. Adam is ours, and we want him recognized as such,” Cade assured the man, his anger bubbling beneath his skin at the man's words against Adam. I grabbed the mal de ojo bracelet around my wrist, trying to hold my tongue. I putit on after I got out of the hospital, unwilling to leave myself vulnerable again.
Uncle Helios was working with Zi to make everyone one, so what happened to me didn’t happen to anyone else. He’d already assured me he would make one for my twins once they were born. It was reassuring, especially since we had hit a dead end in searching for Martha’s supposed sister. Who the fuck knows where that woman went every time she visited California.
I was five months pregnant now and overdue. Evie gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Anna Valeria, almost a month ago. I was as big as a house, and seeing Cade holding another newborn made me all the more anxious to have my little ones in my arms. Everyone’s eyes were on me, which I wouldn’t mind, other than I felt like I was waddling like a duck everywhere I went. I’ve heard them making bets on the time and day I was going to pop, and I got the stink eye from James yesterday because he’d bet on the day before. As if I was closing my legs to keep them inside just so he’d lose, and have to wear a bikini to the next training session.
Our pack house was almost complete, and the houses for pack members were getting the electrical wiring and plumbing inspected before they could put the drywall up. We would be able to begin moving our pack into permanent housing next month, as long as we passed all the inspections. We also chose to rename the pack to New Forest Moon, since everyone was getting a fresh start.
Cade’s pack had been amazing and welcoming, and it was a breath of fresh air not to feel like I had to watch every move I made or try to be perfect. They appeared to love me, and I was loving them right back.
To my utter shock, my old pack members had been so happy to see me back as their luna. Chris explained that the spell to isolate me likely extended to them, and that now that the spell was lifted, they were showing exactly how much they loved me,but I was still a little weary. I didn’t want to get my hopes up and then hear them talking behind my back. Dr. Campbell told me it was okay to feel this way. Wounds took time to heal.
Last month, Cade and I decided we still wanted to officially adopt Adam despite the fact he was gone. I made him a promise that he would always be mine, and I was going to keep it. I knew he was out there, and something in my heart told me I would see him again. I wore the dog tags in a necklace around my neck now, ensuring he was always with me. Zi was even kind enough to enchant them so it could shift with me. It helped Coyo feel closer to him, knowing he would be hanging around her neck as she ran when she could shift again.
“Okay. I will file this paperwork, and Adam William Pierce Salonen will be recognized as the son of Alpha Cade Pierce and Luna Bellarose Salonen,” the councilman said.
“Thank you,” I said, relieved that we didn’t get more pushback than what we got.
I understood his hesitation, but he didn’t know Adam. We did, and it didn’t matter if we saw him again in a year or fifty. My Adam would never do anything like what he was insinuating.
