Eva,

Back in LA safe and sound. Had the driver stop by El Compadre so I could pick up takeout. I was thinking about that day when I asked Keith to hire you as what’s-his-name’s assistant, and I realized I hadn’t been there in ages. Guess seeing you got me feeling all nostalgic. Either that or it got me craving chimichangas. ;)

Hope you and the boys are having a good New Year’s Day. I’m about to listen to the tracks the kids from Indiana laid down while I was in Nashville. I tried to listen on the plane, but this lady sitting next me wouldn’t stop talking about how I was such a “nice, handsome man” who would be perfect for her daughter.Even slipped a piece of paper with digits into my hand as I was getting off the plane.

Her daughter enjoys knitting and lives in Burbank with her six cats.

Whaddya think? Should I call her?

Love,

Eric

Eric,

Oh, you should definitely call her. Don’t forget to invite me to the wedding. ;)

New Year’s Day has been a thrill a minute. The boys and I watched movies and ordered pizza. Correction: I watched movies while Drew played on his phone, and Miles whined about how he should have one, too. Then they got into a fight because Miles kept “accidentally” touching Drew’s leg with his foot, so I left the room and am now emailing you. Such fun times around here!

Anyway, enough “mom shit.” Tell me about some “music shit.” Oh, and is everything ready for the opening of the counseling center? So excited for you!

I actually love hearing about your kids. It’s cool that you do “mom shit.” Makes you even more amazing, especially with Drew being the age he is. Remember, I’ve been a fifteen-year-old boy, and—wait, I probably shouldn’t tell you what it’s like. ;)

Re: “music shit,” the Indiana guys are gonna finish up recording in Nashville, then a couple of them will fly out here while the album is being mixed. The tracks sounded great when I listened to them, so I’m excited about that. Then there’s another new band Keith is managing, and he asked if I’d be interested in helping with their album. And yep, the counseling center opens on Monday. Once I feel like things are running smoothly there, maybe I can work on some of my own music. I don’t know, I’ve had my time in the spotlight. I just feel so damn lucky, I wanna do what I can to give back.

But enough about me. It’s a new year, woman. A whole new start. So, you should really think more about going back to work if it’s something you wanna do. Which I think it is from the way your eyes lit up like a fucking Christmas tree when you talked about your old job. :)
