I shake my head, grinning as I try to think of the right word to express just how amazing Noah is. After an emotional storm and finding out that he did try to stay in touch, we talked for hours the next day about everything.
It was a lot of heavy stuff—how we felt about each other, how much it hurt not speaking for three months, and how we could move forward.
By the end of the day, Noah was basically encouraging me to move into his house. I still wasn’t sure how I felt about that idea, but agreed that after the baby is born, I would stay there until cleared by the doctor. It seemed logical with a newborn rather than him coming all the way out to the cabin or me trying to visit him with the baby.
Despite our agreement, however, I’ve already spent most nights at his place and started taking over his bathroom with my belongings.
But since that morning last month, everything has been blissfully happy.
“Well, then,” Leo says, turning to offer his hand to Tucker, “let’s see what I can do to ensure your happiness here.”
“Nice to meet you, Mr.Henderson,” Tucker says politely and I stifle laughter.
“Dammit, Sabrina,” Leo groans under his breath. “Please call me Leo.”
“Tucker, and this is Quinn.”
I let them proceed with introductions, both of them explaining their roles at the winery. Our parents will join us after we finish going through the production side of things with Tucker. It took more than one conversation to convince them that having all five of us walking Leo through the winery would be a bit overwhelming.
But they eventually conceded.
Just as I’m about to help transition us to going over the event space, my phone vibrates with an incoming call. I pull it out, seeing it’s my sister and decline the call.
“This is a stunning view,” Leo comments and walks toward the back of the tasting room.
“Yes, the sun sets over that hill,” I point in the direction of my cabin. “So it’s a beautiful view here every night.”
“Do you host weddings here?” he asks.
“We do,” Quinn answers. “The property is set up for both indoor and outdoor events.”
My phone buzzes in my back pocket again and this time I don’t even look as I silence the call.
“Seeing this place makes me want to change my plans for date night with Kira.”
“You brought your mysterious girlfriend?” I gasp. He’s been dating her for a couple years, but every time there was a chance to meet her, something would come up with her own job.
Leo grins, digging into his pocket and looking around before pulling out a little black box.
“She’s spending the day at the spa, full package. Then I was going to propose tonight.”
I squeal, clutching my stomach and grinning like an idiot. “Stop, let me see it!”
He opens the lid, and while Quinn and I practically drool over the ring, he tells us about his plans at the hotel restaurant and wanting to propose over dinner.
“Nonsense,” Quinn deadpans. “I’m adding your name to the list and you’ll do it here! We have some really romantic spots where you can pop the question!”
“While the sun sets!” I add excitedly.
We continue with the tour of the tasting room, Quinn leading the walk as if she’s been doing this for years, not just a couple of months. Just as she’s about to hand off to Tucker, I notice him frowning at his phone.
He looks up and turns the screen for me to see.
My stomach knots instantly at seeing the contact name “Princess Addy-Cakes” and a picture of my sister scowling on his phone.
“Excuse me, I need to answer this,” he says, nodding to Leo before stepping away.
My eyes follow him. She would only call him if something was seriously wrong.
