I knew what she was getting at. I just didn’t want to admit it. “Fine. I love War and Rebel too. Though War’s full name is ridiculous, and Rebel is stupidly short and never shuts up.” But even as I said it, my gaze wandered around the yard, searching for Chaos.
Even I couldn’t deny the way my breath faltered at the sight of him with one of his nephews on his shoulders, a beer in one hand, and holding on to the kid’s legs with the other. He and Liam were deep in conversation about something, but it didn’tseem like a serious one. Like everyone else, their smiles were wide and there was a lot of laughter.
She nudged me gently. “Have you told him yet?”
I glanced down at Kara. “That I love him? Do you even know me at all? I’m not telling him that.”
She shrugged. “You should. He loves you too.”
“Doubt it.” Sex was one thing. Attraction, sure. Chemistry? Had it in bucketloads. But telling him I fucking loved him was dumb.
I wasn’t saying it.
But I could show him. Maybe.
Ah fuck. This was a bad idea. Except now that it was in my head, it was suddenly all I could think about.
Kara nudged me. “Nobody is hanging out inside. If you two want a minute…or thirty.” She tried to hide a knowing smile, like she knew exactly what I was thinking about.
I raised an eyebrow at her being all fucking cute and cheeky. “You going to come with us?”
She was still gazing at Grayson. “No. I have someone I need to say ‘I love you’ to as well.” She pressed her tits against me and lifted up onto her toes. “Later, though…after the party…”
I tilted her chin up to capture her lips, kissing the fuck out of her because the thought of getting her clothes off had me hot. Her nipples were hard through her shirt, begging me to pick her up caveman style and carry her to my bed.
Which I was so doing once there weren’t people wanting her attention every few minutes.
She practically skipped off to join the dance floor, Grayson grabbing her with a wide smile so full of devotion, even I couldn’t help but smile at him. He spun her in a circle and dipped her low, pressing his mouth to hers.
Fine. They were fucking cute. Whatever made her happy was all I cared about it. I left them holding hands with Hayley Jadeand edged around the dance floor, refusing to get pulled in, even though Queenie did her best.
Some things might have changed with me, but dancing wasn’t ever going to be one of them. Unless it was of the naked, horizontal kind with Kara writhing beneath me.
Liam grinned at me when I stopped beside them and held his hand out for me to shake. “How you doing, Hawk?”
I took his hand. “Good. Sorry to interrupt. But can I borrow your brother for a few minutes?”
Liam’s brow furrowed. “Of course. Everything okay?”
Fuck, was I being that obvious? Shit. My palms were sweating, and I could tell I was breathing too fast. Not to mention being too polite. Since when did I say things like, “sorry to interrupt?” I swallowed hard. “Yeah, good. Thanks.”
I wanted to groan, but Chaos lifted the kid from his shoulders and handed him back to his brother.
I turned on my heel abruptly and threaded my way through the crowd into the clubhouse, which was indeed empty of bodies, everyone making the most of the warm evening and the lingering sunset.
I headed straight for my bedroom, and Chaos followed, kicking the door shut behind him.
He leaned back on it, studying me. “What’s wrong?”
Nerves were getting the better of me, and so I blurted out the first stupid thing that came to my head. “Nothing. Just wanted to get my dick sucked.”
He raised an eyebrow, like he knew that wasn’t the truth, but I couldn’t stop the hammering in my heart. I needed something else to focus on.
He stepped in close, his mouth a mere inch away from mine and breathed out slowly. “Then ask me nicely.”
I wasn’t doing that. Instead, I undid the button on his jeans, and then the zipper and slipped my hand inside his underwear, needing to touch him.
I dropped to my knees, yanking down his pants and underwear and fitting my mouth over his cock.
