She liked sex. Was a huge fan of it. It was just that, well, she’d never met someone who could really satisfy her. Probably because she fantasized about having two men at once. She’d even tried it once or twice, but it always ended with Ani feeling like something was missing. Maybe her Uber driver was right, and she would find that elusive quantity on this trip.

“Thank you so much for the ride.”

“My pleasure, chica. Remember to trust yourself.”

“I will. Take care,” she replied.

Ani waved goodbye to the sweet and knowledgeable older woman. She was so giving that driver a five star rating along with an extra tip. Ani was thankful for the conversation and the encouragement. It wasn’t her usual experience with women who weren’t her relatives, but Ani would take it and she would be grateful. Entering the airport, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror.

Blonde hair neatly tucked behind her ears, her glasses firmly on her nose; she was the poster girl for boring. No one would suspect the cool blonde had a heart full of dreams and wishes she was dying to come true.

Ani was a firecracker beneath the armor that was her brain and the esteem of her highly sought after executive position. But deep down, she was ready to explode. This trip was her chance. She was going to take that leap of faith, and who knows? Maybe she really would meet her destiny on the sandy shores or cool waters there.

Moongate Island, here I come.

Chapter 2

Brody DeAngelo rolledhis shoulders and looked around the establishment. His Wolf was tense. The Big River Pack, of which he was the Alpha, was volatile at the moment. He hated leaving them to his Beta while he and his Omega, Mayne Nakoa, sought out a third to complete their triad.

What if this is all for nothing?

He shook his head. The Wolf inside scratching at his skin. His animal was more than anxious to find their third and get back to their Pack.

Brody could not afford to think like that. He and Mayne were paired by the fates themselves to rule the Pack. With a third to complete their triad, the three of them would bring balance, peace, and prosperity to Big River. It was their destiny.

They’d met with every available female in a hundred mile radius of the ranch, but not a single one of them had been right for the pair. They’d been beautiful and forward. Some had offered sex without strings, but neither he nor Mayne were interested. Scratching old itches would not satisfy either of them. The Bear wanted their mate, and Brody’s Wolf concurred. No one else would do.

Fucking hell.

The Alpha Omega pair had spent hours talking with the Heads of the Council of Triads. Callan and Landry were truly knowledgeable males, strong and powerful, too. If they said this pact with the Witches was solid, then it must be. Brody and Mayne were betting everything they had on it.

Still, the large Wolf Shifter wondered if he wasn’t putting all their eggs in one basket. His Omega wore a tense expression as he perused the offerings. This would never work if the female in question did not appeal to them both.

“We aren’t settling, Mayne. We will wait for our fated mate.” He assured the Omega.

The Witches had somehow concocted a spell to identify possible mates for Alpha and Omega pairs the world over. Invitations were sent. Technicalities explained. And here they were.Moongate Island. Where dozens of other Alpha Omega pairs mingled with the mostly human crowd to find their thirds.

Once a Triad was complete by the right female, the Alpha Omega pair would mate her, and she would bring balance and peace to them both. She would be the pair’s one true focus.

Their reason.

Their very heart.

It was exactly what he needed to sate his beast and take charge of his Pack.

“I don’t think she’s here,” Mayne growled, his Black Bear peeking through the black of his eyes.

“Just hold on a sec,” Brody replied. His Alpha Wolf tendencies were usually tempered by his much calmer Omega, but things had gone topsy-turvy for the pair since the Bear realized this could be it. They could truly find their mates here.

Gulp.

Brody’s eyes scanned the throng. The women all seemed dressed to kill in high heels and tight dresses. He looked down at his button-down shirt and jeans. That was as dressed up as he got these days. Working a ranch and running a Wolf Pack didn’t take kindly to custom suits or fine silk shirts. Mayne was in something similar. Nothing like the spit and polish some of the other city dudes wore.

Fuck.

No matter. They were the ones who would be able to tell when they met their mate, right? Regardless of outfit choices. He eyed the females as they passed, gauging their scents to see if they appealed to him or his beast.

Pretty. No.
