Never!

“What are you talking about?” She shook her head.

“You have heard of Shifters?” Landry began.

“What? No way—”

“Sage,” Callan interrupted her denial. “How did you come to Moongate Island?”

“I told you, I’m on vacation—”

“Yes.” He nodded. “But how did you pick this place for this weekend?”

“A woman from work gave me the name and a packet, but she didn’t say anything about delusional hotties—”

“Give it here,” he growled. She slid out of bed, sheet wrapped tight around her body, and rummaged through her suitcase.

“Why?” Sage held the paper up, but he was already stalking to her, not caring about his nudity.

“Please?” he asked, gesturing for it once more.

“Fine,” she said, and huffed out a breath. “Here. But I don’t see what this has to do with you two getting a little bit carried away.” Sage held the packet out to him.

“We are not getting carried away,” Callan growled. “Sage, it says right here you were chosen among normals to visit the island for a possible mating. Did you not read this at all?”

“What?” Sage screeched and grabbed the papers back.

“We are Shifters, Sage, and you are our mate—”

“No! Where does it say that? And what does that mean ‘mate’? Are you two on drugs?”

“Sage.” Landry stood beside Callan, and for the first time his Omega presence did nothing to soothe the Alpha beast. “We are your fated mates. Two parts of a Triad, and you are our third.”

“No!” She shook her head, holding the sheet tighter.

“We are Shifters, love.” Landry continued, nodding his head. “Shifters are real, we exist. You have heard of us?”

“Oh my God! You’re both nuts,” she mumbled and closed her eyes. “Of course, they’re crazy. I attract crazy! These guys made me see stars last night, and now they’ve lost their freaking minds.”

“We are not crazy, woman,” growled Callan. “We are the Heads of the Council of Triads. The ruling Alpha Omega pair, and you are our mate! You were supposed to read this. You were supposed to go to orientation before you got that bracelet on your wrist,” he roared.

“This? Our driver gave us these at the airport! OMG! My sisters? Is this happening to them too? I have to get out of here. You have to leave!”

“You are ours and we are not going anywhere,” the Dragon snarled.

“Back off, bucko, or I’ll brain you with this!” She picked up the hotel lamp and gestured menacingly.

Landry had to hand it to her. She was cute when she was mad. And she was angry, not scared. Though her eyes did go wide at the rumbling coming from his partner.

“Look, love, Callan is brash, but he is not angry at you. We would never hurt you.” Landry raised his hands to calm their mate, and Callan toned down his fury.

“Of course, I am not angry with you, lass.”

“Fine. As if I am to blame here,” she growled, then turned to face them.

“No one is to blame.”

“If you guys are Shifters, prove it,” she said, narrowing her eyes. She crossed her arms and waited.
