“No, butts. Pamela get home and I will deal with Javi here. But the fact is he did claim you and we have things to discuss so make some time tomorrow to meet with us,” instructed Gerri.

“Okay,” Pamela said and her eyes filled with tears as her mind did with warring thoughts and feelings.

Confusion was the strongest and she had to agree with Gerri that she needed some time. Her eyes met Javier’s once before she turned to leave. The hurt on his face was painful to witness and she hated that she was the one to cause it.

What else could she do? This was supposed to be a one-time thing. One night of naughty for all the other nights of being boringly nice.

But Pamela wasn’t cut out for being a mate. She had a son to take care of and was only just finding herself and her place in the Pride. She didn’t need a man to come into her life and mess it all up now.

“Fuck,” she said as she turned onto the highway to head back to Maverick Point.

No. She was not going to meet with Javier again. He was too tempting, and she wasn’t strong enough to say no a second time.
