It took him a couple of tries before he could get out a response. “I promise.”

Nate groaned, the sound of it vibrating against his lips as they kissed. Nate pushed into him hard one last time before his entire body tensed with his climax, the heat of his release spilling inside him. Nate collapsed on top of him, burying his face in Kevin’s neck.

“Thank you,” he said.

This time Kevin didn’t respond. He just stroked a hand over the warm, damp muscles of Nate’s back and held him close.

Chapter Twelve

Kevin was at the gym. Even though it was so early the sun was barely up, he was glad to be there. He’d been on a tight deadline for a project, with a demanding client. Thankfully, he’d finished up on time and to the client’s satisfaction. This workout was helping him release all the tension and stress he’d been carrying throughout the project.

Nate was there, but he was in a meeting with his managers before he went out of town for work. Kevin had progressed enough that he didn’t have to have a trainer with him while he worked out. As he thought of Nate, he thought of a few nights ago, when he’d encouraged him to let go.

He never would have thought Nate felt that way or wanted to be rough with him. And he never would have thought that he’d like it. But he had, and Nate had been amazing afterwards. Nate had taken him into the shower, cleaning him up and massaging his entire body. Then he’d run out and gotten him cookies.

Kevin grinned as he picked up a kettle bell. Having a boyfriend hadn’t even been on his radar. Now he had one who was gorgeous, nice, and amazing in bed. He’d hit some sort of holy trifecta his first time out. He couldn’t imagine dating anybody after Nate.

He began a series of motions: squat, swing the kettle bell between his legs, stand, bring the bell above his head. Repeat for two sets of fifteen reps. He was just finishing up his last set, when someone approached him. It was the pretty girl with the Sailor Mercury blue hair.

“Did you need a towel?”

“Uh yeah, sure thanks.” He set the bell down and took the towel from her to wipe off his face. The girl didn’t leave. Kevin didn’t know why she was there or what to say to her. He smiled, but with his eyebrows raised to get her to either move on or say what she wanted.

“Thanks for helping us with our mobile app. And you’re doing our promo campaign too? You rock.”

“Huh?”

“Our promo campaign. The before and after success story.”

Kevin frowned. “I never said I’d do anything like that.”

“Well maybe Nate hasn’t asked you yet. I know he’s going to. I mean, why else would he be hanging around you all the time, making sure you get the best results possible?”

“Because we’re friends and he wanted to help me out.”

The girl laughed. “I know what kind offriendsyou think you two are,” she said with a wink. “But Nate’s not even gay. So don’t get your little nerd boy heart set on him.”
