“You’re a monster.” Dale’s voice trembled; a dead wolf lay at his feet. His body was covered in blood from others, not a mark on him. At least, not yet.
I wasn’t going to argue with him, he was right, but I didn’t care. I only fought for what was mine, protected what was mine, and took what belonged to me. I would always stay the same, fight for myself and my little bird.
“I’m the monster the moon goddess herself brought back.”
He shook his head in disbelief, but this tiny flicker of regret was in his eyes. He killed his own pack members. He knew now he had chosen wrongly. Chose the wrong side of this war. The war that still had to be fought. And it seemed I had more standing against me than I realized.
The Board didn’t get to Dale; no, it was someone else. Someone that wanted me gone, out of the equation. Or they were stalling me, using Dale and his pack as collateral damage. Stalling me to stop me from going where...
“So, yes, Dale, you said it right. It is a death wish to standagainstme.”
Claws itched with the need to slice him up, to tear his eyes out.
“Do you want to know who?” he questioned.
“You will still die,” I sighed. The information would come in handy, but it was only a matter of time. I could feel it in my bones; just a few more days. The ending of all this was closing in, wrapping around us, until there was one left standing.
“I know,” he groaned, cautiously getting up as I waited for him to speak.
He laughed, leaning back against the tree, and then nothing. His brows pinched together; anger stormed through his gaze.
“You can’t tell me?”
His jaw ticked, and I knew enough. They did something to him, and that already gave me an answer.
“It’s okay, Dale. We had a nice run, you and me.”
Scratching the back of his neck, he shrugged. “I would have killed your Gamma if you had asked.”
I smiled, knowing he was right, knowing all too well thatthatmoment had set everything in motion between me and Dale. “I know. But I wasn’t ready for you to find out that I was the one that went on a rampage.”
The corner of his lip twitched. “Just tell me one thing before you send me to Celine herself. Why did you do it? Kill all those camps?”
Nothing came to mind, nothing other than Logan’s words.
“According to my wolf, they smelled funny.”
His eyes widened slightly, thinking the same thing I thought about Logan. He was crazy.
With a gulp, he nodded, and with that, my claws sliced through his throat, and blood gushed out. He took it all as he fell to his knees.
Not even clutching his throat to slow the bleeding. Accepting his death.
Into the light.

It is our way
Joanne
Itshouldhavemademe happy, sensing Isaac’s excitement, but it only irritated me. I was stuck here, hearing the same crap over and over again while Isaac was having fun.
I wondered what he was doing. Or was it Logan whom I felt? Was he out hunting? Enjoying how the wind raked through his fur, that sense of peace and freedom.
I could only imagine; I didn’t know how it felt, but I would someday. I would have my wolf back and experience that sense of freedom. It was all I dreamt about, painting a picture in my mind of how my wolf would look.
The soft knock on my prison door made my thoughts come to a stop as I waited for whoever came to keep me company. Or better said, babysit.
