“Damon! No!” I yell, hearing my mom screaming at me over the phone as it drops from my hand.

Damon follows Mr. Hilton to the floor, punching him again and again until Parker is able to drag him off of his dad.

Mr. Hilton grins even as blood drips from his nose and mouth. “Thank you for making it so much easier to remove you from my son’s life.”

Frowning, I don’t understand his words as he pushes to his feet. He pulls his phone out and calls someone as Damon and Parker hurry over to join me, covering me as I pull on my clothes.

“Hi, Sheriff. This is Reginald Hilton. I want to report an assault.” He pauses for a moment, eyes on the three of us. “Yes, that’s right. Damon Jacobsen just assaulted me in my home. Sure, we’ll wait for you to arrive.”

He smirks as he hangs up the phone before sauntering toward us, pausing when someone starts pounding on the front door and ringing the doorbell. “It seems your mom has arrived, Mackenzie. Why don’t I let her in and the three of you can join us downstairs. I’ll be sure to fill your mom in on how I found the three of you. I’m sure she’ll want to know. You won’t be able to leave until the sheriff arrives unfortunately. He’ll need a statement from you and whoever you had on the phone, I’m sure.”

Then he walks past us, leaving the door wide open.

Tears stream down my face as I glance between Damon and Parker. What the hell just happened?

How did the best day of my life just become the worst?

Chapter Ten

Mackenzie

“Ididn’t expect to lose both of you that day,” I mumble, clinging to Damon.

Damon sighs. “I didn’t want to lose you either, Mac, but Mr. Hilton flat out told me he was going to make me and Mom pay for my dad’s sins. I didn’t think he’d hurt you if I left you alone. He didn’t, did he?”

“No. Besides me begging him to tell me where Parker was and him finally telling me, we didn’t talk. He sold the house and moved away a few months later. Never saw him again.”

“I wish I could say the same.” Damon scoffs. “It’s been a few years since I saw him. The first few years, he’d come and visit at least a couple of times a year to see what else he could ruin in ourlives. I lost more jobs than I’d like to admit because of that man. Same for Mom.”

Pulling back, I stare up at him with a frown. “He really did that? How?”

“You have to remember, he was a big deal in the business world—or at least that’s what he told me. He knew a lot of people in Detroit because of that. If he didn’t know someone where we worked, he knew someone who knew someone. If I could’ve, I would’ve packed me and Mom up and moved, but we didn’t have enough money—something he made sure of.” He shakes his head. “I don’t know what made him finally give up, but it’s been…at least seven years since he last visited.”

“I’m so sorry you had to deal with that.” I sigh, feeling like shit. “If I’d have known—“

“You would’ve let me pull you down into the gutter right alongside me. I know. That’s why I didn’t want to have any contact with you. If I did, I knew I’d give in, and I couldn’t do that to you.” Damon sighs. “I would’ve hated myself if I had.”

I don’t like it, but there’s not really anything I can do to change it, is there?

“Okay, that’s enough about the past,” Damon says. “We’ve somehow found one another after ten long years when we sold ourselves for a weekend of sex. Think whoever bought us will let us have sex too?”

I giggle, slapping his chest. “Of course, that’s where your thoughts go.”

He grins. “I don’t know where else you expect my mind to go. I signed up for a weekend of sex and the girl of my dreams is sitting right in front of me. The one who got away. Of course, I’m thinking about having sex with you. Who wouldn’t? I mean, look at you. You were beautiful as a teenager but as a woman? Damn, Mac. You’re hot as sin.”

A shiver runs through me as I flush, need building in my belly as my eyes roam over him. “Me? Look at yourself. How did you end up in even better shape than when you were playing sports constantly.”

“I guess I have construction work to thank for that. Oh, and the workouts. I work out a lot.” He shrugs like it’s no big deal.

Before I can do anything stupid like licking his six-pack—or his cock—I climb off the couch. I pace along the length of the dressing room, keeping my eyes off the blast from the past currently man-spread on the couch.

“What do you think the person who bought us wants? Isn’t it weird that they bought a man and a woman?”

Damon chuckles. “They want sex, Mackenzie—just like every other fucker who bid on a lot tonight. Maybe they want to watch us have sex?

Maybe they want to have sex with both of us? No matter what, it’ll involve sex, but nothing we wouldn’t want. Remember, we had to list our kinks and hard no’s. If you’re worried, you don’t need to be. I’ll be there with you, and I won’t let anything happen to you.”

“Right. Of course.” I laugh, shaking my head. “I don’t know if I’m more or less nervous now that you’re here.”
