Something I tried to explain to him, but he wasn’t hearing it.
“Nope,” I said, turning back to my brother and smiling. He rolled his eyes as he made his way to my bedside and sat on the edge.
His arm wrapped around my shoulder. “How are you feeling, sis?”
“Tired, but good.” My labor had been quick and, thanks to my epidural, mostly painless.
“She needs to rest,” Crow grumbled, begrudgingly handing Violet to Zo.
I watched my brother’s eyes light up at the sight of his love holding a baby, before softening like I’d never seen before.
I had a feeling before any of us knew it, Arizona would have a ring on her finger and a baby on board.
“You up for more visitors?”
“More?” Crow asked.
“Got a room full of people out there waiting to meet the newest member of our family,” Max said proudly.
Crow cast his eyes on me for a sign I was up for more company, and I nodded.
Moments later, the members of King Crow Ink filed into my room to meet our daughter. As I watched them all with smiles on their faces and love in their eyes, it hit me.
No matter where they went, Max King and Nathan Crow had a way of pulling people into their orbit, and with that, the King Crow family expanded — my family expanded.
With a heart full of joy and a smile on my face, I closed my eyes.
Family.
It was everything.
