“I think I may know what it is. Nothing sharp and shouldn’t take me long to get it at all,” he said. “Can you be brave for twenty seconds while I grab it? You can squeeze my hand as hard as you need to.”

“Okay,” she whispered. She could already feel herself squeezing his hand and he hadn’t even attempted to reach in yet. Mac leaned forward and kissed her forehead.

“Everything is going to be okay.”

She watched him like a hawk as he put his hand back down the drain. Janie held her breath the whole time and squeezed his hand really hard.

Before she knew it, his hand was coming back up and she saw a pink glittery baby bottle emerge from the garbage disposal. A gasp fell from her lips, she let go of Mac’s hand and lunged for the baby bottle.

Her whole face turned bright red as she snatched it out of Mac’s hand. Janie had wondered where this had gone. She had just thought Eleanor had grabbed it and placed it somewhere she couldn’t find.

“Thank you. You can go now,” she hurriedly said.

Janie placed the baby bottle behind her and looked down at the ground. She could not look at him right now. It was too embarrassing.

She should have just sucked it up and done it herself. Maybe use the tongs her ex-husband had bought but never used. Anything but Mac pulling it out would have been better.

“Please go. You don’t need to be here any more.”

Any second now her voice was going to start cracking and she would cry. This was so embarrassing. Why did he have to pull it out? Why did she not pay close enough attention and let it fall down there in the first place?

“Pinky,” Mac said.

“Please go,” her voice cracked. “Thank you for getting it out.” Mac grabbed her face with his hands and forced her to look at him. She closed her eyes. She didn’t want to see what emotions were across his face.

“Janie It’s okay,” he whispered. “Everything is going to be okay.”

“No,” she mumbled. Everything wasn’t going to be okay. Sure, he had seen her playing before at the club, but he had never seen her use a bottle. It was private.

“You don’t have to be embarrassed about that,” he said. “It doesn’t matter if you use baby bottles or diapers. I’m still going to be there for you and will take care of you. In Little headspace, but also as adult you.”

Janie still had her eyes closed.

“Can you please look at me?” he asked.

She shook her head to the best of her ability.

“Please.”

Her eyes cracked slightly open and she looked at him. Everything about this was different than before. It wasn’t theclub setting. It was her own house and he had never been in there before, never seen her Little stuff.

“Such a good girl,” Mac said. “You have nothing to be afraid of or embarrassed about. I’m a Daddy. You’re a Little girl. I want to help you, take care of you. If that means you want to use a bottle, then you can use a bottle. If you want to use a diaper then you can.”

Mac gently grabbed the bottle from her hand. She tried to keep her grip on it, but she wasn’t successful.

“Let me clean the bottle for you,” he said as he turned around towards the sink.

“You don’t have to!” her voice raised as she talked. He really didn’t need to wash it for her. “Mac, you really don’t need to do that. I can clean it later. Please, you can go now.”

He turned around and looked at her. “Janie, I want to do this for you.”

Her shoulders sagged as she watched him clean her baby bottle.

“Everything is going to be okay,” he said. “You don’t have any reason to be embarrassed or nervous.” That was easy for him to say. He was perfect in everything.

“Do you want a bottle?” he asked.

She shook her head. There was no way she was going to drink that in front of him.
